It's that time of the year again Smile

Using the latest version as of this writing (dev 10039) it is impossible to reach the sides of the Wiimenu with IR on a Xbox controller when you display it in 16:9 and don't use relative input, it seems to pillarbox the reach to 4:3 making you unable to reach the left and right buttons, it also seems that the standard offset for the center is too low by 3 CM, it doesn't matter if I emulate Sensor bar above or below the TV.(it seems it was set up to be 10cm as default).

Looking at the configure Emulated Wiimote screen on the IR and Motion Control tab I can see the "Calibration" so I of course did this as well, but it didn't do anything to alleviate the issues. My best guess is that while looking at the "test" at the bottom is that it shows a 4:3 square where the IR can go and thus effectively emulates a 4:3 screen.

As I see this issue popping up every so often in the forums I think this is a real problem. I understand the reasons behind it though: most Wii games do not use 16:9 screens but Dolphin defaults the Wii Menu to 16:9 if it is set up to use a 16:9 aspect ratio which most people seem to do as their screens are 16:9 screens.

In previous versions we were able to resize the "screen" for IR by changing the width and height, but it seems that it has been removed since the QT UI changes.

What can be done to alleviate the issue? I see a couple of options:

1. Always make the IR default to 16:9 AR allowing the cursor to go out of screen on 4:3 (this is my preference)
2. Give us a toggle at the IR and Motion Control tab to set the IR "screen" to 16:9 when enabled (also changing the blue screen box in the test to reflect this, most elegant but also the most work, I guess, but will give a bit more "clutter" in the UI)
3. Default the Wii Menu to 4:3 no matter what (least preferable)

Increase the "Total Yaw" setting under "IR".

There was a long discussion on IRC for the best concise and accurate name. Feel free to propose something better. Smile

It used to be called "Width" which was not liked because it is not an accurate description.
