Wiimote help?

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to configure my Wiimote for use with the Dolphin Emulator.

Is a simple Bluetooth connection enough? or do I have to go purchase a sensor bar that I am capable of hooking up to my PC?

A simple Bluetooth connection is really all that is needed to hook up your Wii Remote to your computer for Dolphin.

As for the sensor bar, the name is a misnomer; all it is is a pair of infrared lights telling the remote where the TV is (not the remote telling the sensor bar where the remote is. Long story short, a wireless sensor bar works fine, because it is just a fancy bunch of IR lights powered by batteries. You could rig a wired sensor bar to hook up to your computer for power, but that would be unnecessary.

so it will work even without a wireless sensor bar?

No, if you want to play games that require aiming (think Twilight Princess and Skyward sword.) you will need a sensor bar. If you can't afford one right away, look into getting some Tea lights (Candles, little tiny ones, $1 at the dollar store) you only need 2. Place them about the same distance apart as the Wii sensor bar (6in, 15cm) That will do as a temporary solution, of course, they have to be lit lol
