I have constant issues with Wiimote connectivity, and I'm unsure whether it's an issue with the Wiimote itself, Dolphin or my rig/drivers etc.

I doubt it's the Wiimote as it works without issue on an old Wii.. but with Dolphin (4.0.2) often it will break connection for no apparent reason & I then can't reconnect, on the odd occasion it does work absolutely fine for as long as I'm using Dolphin (not doing anything differently?)

Should my rig be (re) installing the drivers every time I'm wanting to use the Wiimote with Dolphin?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll get straight to the questions.

1. What is your bluetooth adapter.
2. Where is your bluetooth adapter on your PC?
3. Is it a genuine nintendo wii remote?
4. How are you connecting the wii remote before play? I get the feeling you are doing it wrong.

I am having the same problem as the OP, even down to the reinstalling of drivers every time i connect
Dongle: Asus BT-400
Location: Front USB port next to my other BT (generic Rocket Fish) used for my DS3
Made by Nintendo: Yes
Connection: Windows BT device config, however if i do not open dolphin within seconds after connection it will immediately lose connection, Dolphin MUST be open when i connect, or shortly there after

Don't connect it with "Windows BT device config". Just press refresh in the wiimote settings and then press 1+2 on your wiimote. It's amazing how so many users think it should be more complicated than it is.

Wow really? So just launch Dolphin and press 1+2? Can a game be running when i do it? I like to set my games to auto launch when i open a shortcut through Steam. I have it set for continuous scan if it matters

You can even turn on continuous scanning and do it while the game is running without even opening a window.

Just wanted to say this works flawlessly and i love it! i am running into issues where if it plays sound through the wiimote it disconnections, But i disabled sound and it works perfectly.

Any idea why sound is broken? Not that i care to be honest, it's just curiousness Tongue

Some games are like that. Metroid Prime 3, Donkey Kong Country Returns, etc. Those games essentially send a constant feed to the wiimote and PC bluetooth can't handle it (or Dolphin is messed up, no one knows). But yea, just disable speaker data and it works fine.
