revision: SVN R 6409

Game: Super mario galaxy 2

Problem: (emulated) Wiimote controls not working.

one of the following will occur in game:
Wiimote run normally, for a while, then
1. Wiimote controls stop working, no response whatsoever, Statusbar says "Wiimote connected", doesnt change no matter what actions unless stop emulation (I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting wiimote via alt-F5 or tools->connect wiimote 1)
2. Statusbar says "Connecting..." and does not change, controls does not work
3. Statusbar says "Wiimote connected", and game says "Communications with the Wii remote have been interrupted, etc..."

At the same time, the game is running smoothly at normal speed and frame rate.

most of the time, wiimote stop working, but the game doesnt recognize it as disconnected, and continues to do the action before disconnection (e.g. moving in a direction continuously), and dolphin shows it as connected.

EDIT: wiimote config:

EDIT2: specs:
Windows 7 ultimate x64
Core i7 920 @ 3.2
8GB DDR3 Corsair dominator
EVGA GTX 460

Dolphin SVN R 6409 x64
using DirectX 9, also tried DirectX 11 and OpenGL (same problem)

Have you tried manually disconnecting then reconnecting when this happens? (Press alt-f5 twice)

I was going to try to replicate it, but it's a bit hard because I don't know how long it would take to occur Confused

most of the time, it would not work, but on some rare occasions it will reconnect, but disconnects within minutes after

Thanks for using the search function and bumping this thread.

I have the same problem, but as far as I know, its unfortunately a known problem with Wiimote emulation and there is currently no fix. Just have to deal with it and restart emulation.
This most often occurs for me after loading a save state. Every thing is fine, but the saved state just does whatever the last input was (runs right continuously), and I have to restart emulation and make a new save state.

If someone knows of a fix, please share. Smile

I was able to get my wiimote to work but first making sure its added as a bluetooth device, then in the wiimote config of dolphin, hitting "pair device" hitting 1+2 on the wiimote to start detection, then windows 7 make its connection sound ( had to do this process sometimes 1-2 times not always flawless), then hit refresh on the wiimote config, and it showed 1 connected. It was fine after that.

I've been playing Fragile Dreams and I'm getting this bug - the emulated wiimote stops working even though it says it's still connected.

It seems to happen every time a large group of enemies appears onscreen. A few moments after they show up, I lose control and my guy starts spinning in circles. But if I quickly run past where the enemies spawn, it doesn't happen. Whether I've loaded from a savestate or not doesn't seem to affect it, it happens every time without fail. Sad

Has anyone else had this problem with this game? I'm on r7236.

Edit: switching from direct3D9 to openGL seems to have solved the problem, though now it's running slower and flickering constantly in certain areas. Oh well, I guess that's a step up from being unplayable. Smile

It is the Wii speaker causing the loss of connection. Which is unfortunate given it is a game play element. To fix just right-click on the game in your list and select properties - then disable the Wii speaker.
