Wiimote Connection Issues on macOS

Whenever I try syncing a Wiimote to Dolphin on macOS, one of four things happen...

1. Nothing happens
2. Wiimote vibrates but doesn't connect
3. Dolphin Crashes
4. (VERY RARE) Wiimote connects without a problem
   

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to hear them!
