I have Win 7 x64 with an Asus USB-BT21 usb bluetooth adapter, which is supposed to work with wiimotes i was told. I plugged the adapter in and everything went fine. I hit Add Device in the bluetooth devices screen and pushed and held 1+2 on the wiimote, which was detected and installed as a HID.

If i go into Dolphin and select use real wiimote it makes my wiimote rumble and it says it is connected to 1 wiimote, and the 1st player LED is on at the bottom of wiimote. But when i get in a game i can't push any buttons on teh wiimote. I hit alt-f5 and it says wiimote 1 connected, but nothing works still.

I've tried Wiinremote and smoothboard and wiinremote detects my wiimote as active sometimes, but i can never seem to get it to detect input from it. Enabling the cursor makes my mouse cursor fly to the top right corner of my screen, and if i move it with my mouse it just move right back to the top left corner. Thought it might be an issue with win7 64 so i tried on my XP x86 machine and same thing happened there. Put a brand new pair of duracell batteries in it for good measure and still nothing. Tried getting a wireless wii sensor bar but that did absolutely nothing, as expected.

*edit*

I should note that, when in any game, it says "Connecting" at the bottom right corner of my dolphin window and just stays that way throughout.

Actually, it must have been a problem with the default windows driver/stack. I got the evaluation copy of bluesoleil and it's been working great. Wiimotes work in game as far as motion control go, but I've yet to get the IR to work right. I have my sensor bar on but i can't point my wiimote to aim cursor in any game/app.

well, i got my IR pointed to kinda work in a couple apps, smoothboard works rather well, wiinremote works OK if i hold the wiimote within 1-2ft of the sensor bar (and towards one of the sides, not the middle of the sensor). When i was using IR mouse control they both (wiinremote more so than smoothboard) had issues where the cursor would rapidly shake left and right. However, the bluesoleil trial i got kept disabling my wireless every X minutes and it was really annoying me, and i wasn't about to pay extra $ for it and the smoothboard program just to get my wiimote working like it should. So i uninstalled it and went back to the regular windows bluetooth. Now i'm back to motion control w/ no IR at all... and the wiimote only (partially) works in dolphin, none of the other apps.

Wait, n/m, it's back to saying "Connecting..." on dolphins wiimote status instead of showing the activity/battery leds or whatever along the bottom. Such as pain in the @$$

I've got the same ennoying problem. Before buying wiimote, i've tried with a friend's wiimote an sensor bar. After some tries, i've manage to play. I've play mario kart and new super mario bros for hours without any problem. So i've decided to buy 2 brand new wiimote. I've have reinstalled my d-link dbt 122 in a usb port. Dolphin recongnize my wiimote, led 1 is on, lauch mario kart and.... nothing! My computer is a hp core i7 860 6go ram, gt200 1go, windows 7 home premium. Note : i've not got yet my sensor bar, but in mario kart or super mario i don't think it's a problem (sideway wiimote!). Is anyone have discover what is the problem????Huh PLease do not rename in windows the name of the wiimote because dolphin won't recognize it after!

Hey steiner666, I think I've trashed my bluetooth in win7 x64. My default microsoft stack was recognizing the wiimote ok, and Dolphin was pairing it ok, but buttons weren't working ingame, so I decided to give Bluesoleil a shot.

It didn't worked, the version I've tried was BlueSoleil 6.2 but apparently it's not x64 compatible (although I've heard it is) because I always had this error "Can not start bluetooth. Please try it again" and the assistant never opened (even in compatibility mode).

Now I've uninstalled Bluesoleil to try a newer version (downloading it as I write this) but my old microsoft stack won't work anymore. Devices don't get recognized, and the "Show Bluetooth Devices" window keeps loading forever.

Can you explain me what version of bluesoleil did you used? And any other advice on how to restore the old ms stack to its defaults?

Thanks in advance.

Yep, latest blusoleil made the trick. My wiimote works like a charm. I haven't tested the vibration but motion seems ok.

THX.

Yeah i've been goin back and forth trying to get my wiimotes working properly with the default microsoft bluetooth, but bluesoleil is the only thing that actually works pretty reliably. Only thing that sucks is that I'm gonna have to shell out the $ for it since this 2MB trial limit is a real pain. Sad that i have to basically spend 2X as much as teh bluetooth adapter itself on a program/driver to get it working right.

oh well, way she goes...

Bluesoleil is working pretty stable, ms stack was painfully hard to configure since my device (wiimote) was connecting and disconnecting all the time and Dolphin recognized my wiimote all over again. A very frustrating experience.
Bluesoleil, on the other hand, keeps the connection alive very well and all the functions of the wiimote are working.

A bit too expensive, I know, but worthy in the end for all the extra features on Bluetooth devices. Although, I'll probably never use them for anything but Dolphin.
