Ok so I'm having a incredibly annoying issue. Every single time I turn my Wiimote on My computer searches windows update for the driver. The issue is that it takes so long to search that by time it finds the driver the controller is no longer in pairing mode and the process starts all over again. Now I have gotten it to connect and have played games just fine. but getting it paired is hit or miss because of windows update.

How can I tell windows to stop searching windows update for the driver. But I don't want to disable the feature altogether because it come in handy for other things.

My Dolphin build is :7719 I have Also tried it on 3.0

I am not trying to play any game in particular, it does this all the time.

System specs are in the sig.

Sorry I would have just added this the my 1st post but I did not see an edit button.

I have no Idea how to solve this, when I finally do get my remote paired, I go to pair my wife's and it takes 20min of hit an miss, then we finally get it, and it "magically" make her P1 and Me P2. SO then We have to start all over. We have sat here for coming on 45min and still haven't even loaded the game yet. Its infuriating, especially considering how much computer experience I have, yet I cant seem to figure out how to make my Bluetooth work.

I searched High and Low and I couldn't find anything on this issue. I actually found the answer while searching for something else.

These two people seem to have had the same issue:

http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=16683

http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=16682

The solution I found was taken from part of a post here:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/windows-update-yi-ruan-bluetooth-hid-device-driver/5bfd0c92-1771-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5

All I did was:

1. Go to device manager with the remotes connected and install the drivers that was located on my PC NOT the one from windows update.

But that only solves half the issue because then next time I connect them It searches windows update again. So Step 2 fixes that.

2. In the search field in the "Start Menu" Type "gpedit.msc" <(Without quotes) and hit enter.

Select "Computer Configuration" -> "Administrative Templates" -> "System" -> "Device Installation" adjust the last policy "Specify search order for device driver source location" to "Search Windows Update Last".

Thats it. Now my remotes pair up within just a few seconds.

I manually go into dolphin at each startup, go to the wiimotes section, and click the pair up button while at the same time pushing the two buttons on the wiimote and everything will sync right up. Windows 'installs the driver' each time and everything is peachy.

Without that, I have to remove the old driver from the bluetooth stack and install it again manually every time I turn off the wiimote.... using dolphin is faster.
