I did something.

It's really evil, what I did.

I did RTFM of my Wii. (for anyone who don't know what RTFM is: Read The Fucking Manual)

I don't know, why I did it.

But I did read it.

And there I did read something.

I read somehtin interesting.

I read, that there are two way to pairup a Wiimot to a Wii.

First way, that we also use to pairup the Wiimote to out PC for dolphin, is to use the buttons 1 + 2 to make it visible for BT scan. This way is described in the manual as "temporary" pairup. As expample there is written, that it can be used when you want to use your Wiimote with the Wii of a friend without loosig the pairup to the own Wii. More about "loosing pairup" later.

The second way is the pairup with the sync buttons (one of the Wii and the other of the Wiimote). This will bind the Wiimote to the Wii until it will be paired up this way to another Wii.

Hmm. Ok. The Wiimote gets bind to the Wii and lose this binding when paired up to another Wii by using the Sync buttons.

Why is this interesting now.

My idea is:

When pairing up by using 1+2 it only connects during pairup till it looses the connection.

But when pairing up the connection by using the Sync buttons, IMHO after pairing up completet, the connection data will get stored in a memory of the Wiimote.

When I paired up my cell-phone with PC or TomTom with BT for free speaking, I have to save the connection too, when I want to reconnect later without pairing up again. So it seems to be the most logic difference between these two pairup ways. And I am sure, that this will work for PC connection too.

I my eyes, the question is: What has to be done, to get the connection stored in the Wiimote? Maybe there is some special code, that has to be sent to the Wiimote by dolphin. Don't know.

As bluetooth is partially implemented in WireShark, I will try to check for something that can be done by dolphin. I hope I can build up my TV soon, then I can look for it.

first off all, to pair the wiimote like that youll need to be able to send the password (which is impossible without custom packet sending or your own program cause it is ithe wiimote's mac in reverse with a 0 byte at the end afaik).
there were some other things i can't remember why its not done yet

all i know is that marcan from TT had it fully paired up once... can't remember how tho

Actually, I believe more than before, that it is more protocoll standard compilant, than we think.

To do BT packed sniffing with WireShark, I will try to set up an USB supporting VM with Linux first (I don't want install it native), as I read in the Wiki, that Windows is actually not supported Sad

I hope the BT support of WireShark is enough to capture the informations we do need. There is another tool, that shall be able to decode the pairup informations out of a captured file. Maybe it will do so. Then it could be possible to do without using "custom packet" to send sniffed raw data.
