Hello team,

Stumbled upon an article yesterday about a group that successfully obtained methods of decrypting the key, software and managed to develop the first optical drive emulator for the Wii U. This group was also known to obtain the first Wii key for modding purposes when the Wii got released. So now they developed the Wiikey U to soft mod the Wii U for backup purposes and homebrew. Won't provide names nor link to the article or product because I'm too lazy and sleepy right now, but I thought it was interesting to read.

They have "developed" it, they did not release it.

It has been released, as of early this year. The website claims to have been taking pre-orders of the product and have sold out since. Features included are support for all regions of Wii U, non-soldered method, and allows backups via USB.

Rubbish. The "product" doesn't exist, wii mod chips didn't use keys (they were just updated GC modchips) and a wii u drive emulator would not enable homebrew or unsigned code execution.

Figures, I was skeptical at first about the Wii key being compromised but now that you mention it it only showcases vWii being operational on the Wii U if that's even possible.

There would be no use as we don't even know how to rip WiiU iso's, how to extract them, what the filesystem is, let alone how to put them onto a USB drive in a way that they would actually be playable. Some of this knowledge is known by some people but they don't seem to share their knowledge with the world.
