I was just wondering if there is any way to solve this issue. Certain games require you to point the wiimote at the sensor and then press A, but there is no way to do that with a computer because there is no sensor. These games absolutely require you to point and press A, there is no navigation with buttons. Any ideas?

You can always emulate the IR sensor, or use an actual sensor bar.

Yeah.

It's just an IR camera on the wiimote.

How would you recommend emulating the IR sensor?

It depends on what kind of controller you have and what game you're playing, but just for reference, I find that using the right stick for IR works pretty well.

The "sensor" bar has no sensor in it. It is basicly just a bar with two IR lights. So yes, two candles works fine, but they aren't very bright. So if you want to play in front of a TV, you need brighter IR lights.
