Not an issue really. You need EFB to RAM for them to work but usually it's slower than texture so most people don't feel like turning it on just so they can see a tiny image next to their save files.

Basically, using the patched ISO, my framerate will sit at a maximum of 59fps, not 60, whether I set 60 as the max or not. If I put 65+ as the max, it will go above 60, so it's clearly not being choked by my computer. It's just sitting at exactly 59 and won't go up or down.

Using SVN build 7719, and tried as many settings as I could.

Anyone have any ideas?

Usually full speed means jumping between 59 and 60 vps for me. Doesn't really matter and I always figured it just reports it a bit wrong or something. Or are you having some issue you think is related to it?

I have now been playing this game for about 40 hours, currently in Makna Forest/Frontier Village area. I have been getting the occasional crash and static music... but nothing too frequent, until now that is!

Using this revision and settings recommended by another user, which have proved great until this point in the game:

http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=18605&pid=167141#pid167141

All of a sudden my music now keeps corrupting/becoming static ALL the time. Literally within about 5 mins of loading up my save game, doesn't matter what area although it is even more frequent when in Frontier Village.

I haven't changed Dolphin settings or revision, nothing else has changed on my computer. Really gutting as now I can't really carry on playing and will have to wait for some kind of resolution to the sound issues (or get a new cutting edge PC so I can run LLE instead of HLE).

Very disappointed, it has been running near flawlessly up until now (hence why I have already put in 40 glorious hours of game time).

Anyone have any ideas why it could all of a sudden take a downturn audio wise?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I've been getting crashes every 10-30 mins no matter what revision/settings. I've just got to Makna as well and can no longer play without it crashing within a minute now every load.

Yup, tried lectrode's builds as well. All seem to crash on me unless I disable dual core. Then, obviously I can't get it to run full speed :p

Hello, glad to hear you beat the game with only one crash and no other issues but it can help others peoples if you say about your computer config and dolphin settings.
Thx.

If you're having sound problems, try using OpenGL. Direct3D9 and Direct3D11 have slightly better performance (especially during battles) but using OpenGL has made sound sync better with what's happening in the game, thus reducing static, pops, and making stutters disappear almost entirely. This does seem counter intuitive since the sound problems are related directly to performance (and so DX9 should work better) but I can't argue with results.

If you're like me and have a modest rig, these settings should get you a smooth 25 FPS while out of combat and 21-24 while in combat unless there's just a lot going on.

If you have speed issues, try DX9 and see if you get it running faster after that, but expect cracks and pops.

I'm using unpatched Xenoblade in Dolphin 3.0 with these specs:

Intel i5 M480 2.67 (hyperthreading)
ATI Radeon Mobility HD 6550M overclocked to 650 engine/900 core memory
4Gb DDR3 RAM

It should be noted that since overclocking my GPU I haven't experienced a single "crash," so I guess those had something to do with GPU bottlenecks. It's worth nothing that most of those crashes aren't actual crashes and will clear up in a few minutes if you wait for them. If you still aren't at the 23+ FPS mark after this, try enabling Vbeam.
