Eventually, as in...it eventually will happen. I always get the sound distortion at some point, 5 minutes into loading a save or an hour. Yes, it fixes for me too when a cutscene changes or music changes(I change the time to either day or night depending). So that means you -are- still getting the sound distortion. It doesn't matter if it's an easy fix, you're still getting it is what I'm saying and I'm not seeing anyone sidestep the problem wholesale unless their processor is just blazing.
Vbeam still screws up sound effects for me, like menu options or picking up a collectible are slowed down to half speed or so though the game is still playing regular, and I see no speed increase, so I haven't bothered with that myself.
I can be certain the copy/pasting settings and using the same revision, and still getting sound problems, means it's not a 100% cure for everyone. Yes I run the game fine, but I still get the sound distortion after playing for a random amount of time.
