Does anyone else get slowdown in battle? My FPS seems to be all over the place from 20-30 but as soon as I exit the battle it's back to 30. It never drops below 30 anywhere except in battle. I've tried changing heaps of settings and builds but nothing seems to change it.

First off, thanks to all of you who have posted previously.
Alright, my problem is that Dolphin crashes during play. Specifically during battles, but I have seen a couple crashes just walking around. Though my FPS is rock solid at 25-30. I don't even have the sound problems that have been reported before (thanks to the build I am using). Thanks for any input you guys can add. Specs: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHZ (Stock) 4 GB DDR3 Ram AMD Radeon HD 5770 1GB. Win 7 x64 Professional. Build: 3.0-96 Dirty ICC (One that has been posted around as a great one for Xenoblade) Settings: 10-06-2011, 12:09 PM
As far as I know, there are still no fixes for the game crashing. It seems to happen more often in specific areas for me, like Satorl Marsh, near the Frontier Village part of Makna Forest and on the Fallen Arm.

I've just reached Makna Forest and I've had 3 crashes while playing this game. 1 in Satorl, and 2 in Makna. 1 was during battle, 1 during a cutscene, and 1 when just walking around. However, all 3 crashes happened near a waterfall, with no warning (not even an FPS drop). I had just switched to OpenGL before the latest crash. I guess I'll try DX11 now, even though I get lots of hiccups during battle with it. I disabled Windows Aero. It didn't help anything. I'm using Mylek's 3.1 HLE fix. I didn't change any settings from that, other than resolution, accurate vbeam, and idle skipping. My FPS is rock solid, even when I switched over to OpenGL. With OpenGL my FPS occasionally drops on a few specific moves. I would really like to know how people beat this game without any crashes. Is it because they were using the NTSC version, instead of PAL? 10-06-2011, 07:24 PM
There's no NTSC version. The game is only released in Europe (asside from Japan ofc).
I don't know.. crashes are random. I rarely got them either. You should stick with DX9 for best performance. You could also try the JITIL experimental recompiler. 10-06-2011, 09:08 PM

I crashed after an hour and a half, inside Frontier Village. I was nowhere near a waterfall this time, or water, for that matter. However, I noticed that every time I have crashed, it was right as the game was switching "modes". This time, it was when I tried to open up the Skills menu. For the cutscene crash, it was right before it began to fade to black. And for that combat one, it was right before my last hit connected on a long fight. Alright, so now I'll try DX11 with JITIL. 10-06-2011, 09:56 PM

As for my settings, well I've been changing them a lot to see if it improved performance and it didn't. I'm using 3.0_71 with Mylek's patch. 10-06-2011, 10:33 PM
this is kinda a shoot in the dark, try disabling vbeam accurate emulation.
