Audio problems are fixed with recent versions. But they might be too much demanding for your system.
Old versions were faster. But audio was broken in this game with HLE.
There's another solution: use LLE with your old build. The sound will be perfect Tongue .

Overclock your CPU.
If you still got sound issues then you can try with LLE (more demanding though)

Well I just updated my version to the newsest one and it looks like the old one with MaJoR's tip. I'm just too dumb to know where to put in what.

But there is still the same issue as with the old version. After some time the audio skips and not just under heavy load or ever 10 seconds, no every 0.5 seconds even when standing still going totally down the drain. Any ideas?

(12-22-2013, 01:45 PM)Sub-Zero Wrote: Hey guys I am having an issue with dolphin, it won't utilize my graphics card. I have read the most common suggestions posted here.

My specs:

i7 3770k @ 3.5GHz (overclocking to 4.2 GHz didn't help).
16 GB RAM 1600 MHZ
Graphics card: GTX 680 2GB
OS: W7 ultimate 64 bit.
Dolphin version: 4.0-548.

FYI: I'm running Asmodean's shader from:
DolphinFX - (Shader suite for the OpenGL backend)
Got the PAL version and with 30 fps patch.
Also using the HD textures from this thread. (Same performance with or without textures btw).

IR: Auto (Window Size) = 1920x1080. I've tried 2.5x, 3x, 4x etc same freezing problem.

I've also tried running on Direct3D mode same freezing problem.

Even without the shader I still get the same freezes when in battle when there are more than 4 monsters or a big attack 5-21 fps. I've made sure to put my card on NCP to "maximum performance". And even put AA to max too. Didn't help at all, gpu still on idle..

Let me know if I need to put my settings here, cuz i don't think it will help if I change settings since I've tried pretty much everything ya have suggested already. The best performance i got was putting Audio on framelimit and limit by fps. Still though my gpu is on idle constantly, so only my CPU is being used (I've checked with Nvidia inspector).

Please help me with this, I've been trying for days now and now I'm at my last straw.

Update.. somehow dolphin started detecting my GPU but still it won't fully utilize it and main problem is that it goes back and forth to idle to performance mode.

Even still the max it has gone up in usage was 50%...

When that happens you can see in huge drop in GPU usage thus the huge freezes I keep getting.

IS there any way to fix this?

Sorry for big picture I'm not sure how to make a thumbnail.
This only happens with dolphin emulator..

Edit: The solution to my problem can be summed up to: CLEAN YOUR PC ONCE EVERY 6 MONTH KIDS!

I see this boards user are in a different timezone than me. For anyone still interested in helping with my problem I give my current complete rundown:

The game runs fine at constant 25 fps for about 2 minutes (some very minor hiccups in audio every 10 seconds or so until then but thats ok). But then suddenly fps drops appear and in just a minute it gets absolutely unbearable. At first it just drops to 24 fps a few times but it quickly goes down to 18 fps in about a minute.

I suspect something like some cache in the background fills up and doesn't empty correctly? Or my RAM? I dunno...

I played through the whole game once already with this machine and there were no problems at all. It was the old Dolphin version r6880.

My Specs are as follows:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 at about 3.4Ghz
4GB RAM
Radeon HD 6870

My Dolphin Configuration can be seen here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13477906/dolphinconfig.jpg

Will provide any additional information if anyone wants.

Thank you VERY MUCH in advance!

Yorgal: You didn't describe what was on the wiki page, at least not exactly. There are two potential sources of sound issues in Xenoblade...

The first and most well known is that your CPU isn't fast enough for the game, and so the audio "garbles" or "slows down". This is what Lord Vader was assuming you were experiencing (a very safe assumption usually).

The one on the wiki is a second and unrelated problem: even if you are capable of running it totally at fullspeed, tiny little "pops" occur constantly during gameplay. The pops are very subtle and 99% of users don't even notice them, but they are always there and there is nothing that can be done about them right now.

Which would you say is closest to what you are experiencing?

Set EFB copies to Texture instead of RAM it only affects the savescreens anyway and enable the vbeam speedhack in the games properties (right click in gameslist) it speeds up the game a bit with your prozessor and gfx card you will have framedrops in battle later in the game (Valak Mountains and on)so try this build: http://dl.dolphin-emu.org/builds/dolphin-DX9-Final-4.0-150-x64.7z with the dx9 renderer, openal audio (set latency to 4 or 5) and the settings like i said to get the best performance, AMD cards are a bit faster with this build from my testing unfortunatly they don´t get the same performance boost from the current opengl renderer as the nvidia cards atleast the older 5xxx and 6xxx series i tested so this 4.0 dx9 revision is by far the fastest and most stable option.

Tried this. But still after 1 - 2 minutes playtime random framedrops of 2 - 4 frames which screws up the audio and the game flow. And battles are even lower, sometimes stopscreens.
Why did it work back then and not anymore now? ;_;

Try to delete the folders in your \Documents\Dolphin Emulator folder delete everything but the WII and GC folders (your savegames are there) to reset your settings and the shadercache maybe something is screwy there so best make them from scratch.
BTW its pretty normal to get some short pauses and framedrops after you start the game on a new version since the emulator needs to create a shadercache for the game this happens everytime it caches a new shader and shouldn`t happen from there on so maybe thats what happend here.
Just to be sure you did install the newest Directx and updated your AMD drivers?

Yes I have the newest DX and AMD drivers. AMD drivers are up to date since yesterday Wink
I tried the shader cache but still no luck. I also don't think this has to do with the shaders.
I made a video showing the fps drop! For your viewing pleasure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKpn2kiSpaA
Up to 1:31 I consider this normal lagging on loading and stuff, nothing big, just usual drops. But right around 1:31 the framerate drops way WAY too low. Listen for the music!
And no... my video caputre software isn't the one interferring. This is how it behaves every time Wink
