Use the OpenAL backend, then try increasing the latency as needed. The music will slow down when the game slows down, so it should ideally prevent stuttering. Give it a try and see if that helps you at all.

Also, yeah, your CPU is pretty weak :p At least you can play it, and that's what counts sometimes. Try setting the Framelimit to 30 and uncheck Limit by FPS. Works wonders for me in preventing drops.

I guess I'll just live with it, since if i don't look at the FPS, don't really notice it lol

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I'm using the HD texture pack, I'll try without it to see if it improves
EDIT: Read the limit by FPS option by some other guys behind, worked for me

Sorry but how do you 'use the OpenAL backend'? I'm already running OpenGl (rather than Directx 11 or 9) if that's what you mean.

EDIT: nvm I figured it out. The sound no longer stutters (yay!) but crackles sometimes instead.

A massive improvement though =].

Click DSP -> Backend -> choose OpenAL. The Latency option will now be available to use. Increasing it will add a slight delay to some sounds, but the tradeoff may be worth it if it gets rid of stuttering audio. If the FPS drops too low, even OpenAL and timestretching with increased latency won't prevent stuttering, so keep that in mind too.

This is probably the wrong place to post this, but I'm new to these here forums so feel free to redirect me as needed.

In any case, has anyone got a comfortable keyboard setup for this particular game? I'd play it on my Wii, but I like to up the graphics a bit AND my dogs chewed up both my classic controllers for the wii, along with my PC gamepad for leaving them home alone. I swear my dogs are vengeful.

It isn't Classic Controller only but Classic Controller is the best choice to play this game

Yup, it plays fine with Wiimote+chuck. In fact, when I was playing the game on the Wii, I thought it was pretty relaxing playing with my arms separated, resting on the chair's armrests, without having to care about motion controls and that kind of thing...even though the button layout was a bit awkward, IMO Tongue
