Try using the OpenAL audio backend. It has time-stretching for the audio, so it might help with the sound-crackling.

I was kind of hoping to at least get the exp multiplier working. And just like Trevlec, audio is crackling a little with 3.5-1344 HLE. It's still very playable, just a bit annoying. 05-22-2013, 07:39 AM
Hey Guys,
first, thanks to made XBC running this good on dolphin! i love it. but i've a problem and don't find a way to solve it. In Colony 9 and around, everything is fine. but when i'm in the tephra cave.. after 5-10 in there, the game instantly freezes. (and i get a sound loop). My checked options: Enable Dual Core, Idle Skipping, JIT Recompiler DSP LLE recompiler, DSP on Dedicated Thread, XAudio2 Direct3D9, 4x Native, No AA, 8x AF Ignore Format Changes, EFB Copies to Texture, External Frame Buffer 'Disable' The Sound with LLE is very good (only after ~30 min it crackles) (sorry for maybe bad english) 05-22-2013, 09:22 AM
Excerion89, would you please attach a zipped save game so that we can try it? Right click the game in the game list and select "Export Wii Save (experimental)".
I tested this out and could not get the emulator to freeze. I was in the cave for around 20 minutes and used your settings (except I used 2X instead of 4X as my video card can't handle 4X). Did you dump the LLE roms from your Wii or are you using the free roms provided with Dolphin? Also, do you have the VBeam Speed Hack enabled in the game properties? That option might make the game unstable.

Just tried it on my end and I didn't get any freezes either. (Although on 3.5-1373 which is the latest version as I speak)
Excerion, does the crashing happen regardless of where you stand? Or only when you've passed a certain location or are in a certain location? Have you tried it again with the latest build? 05-24-2013, 01:29 AM

@skid i don't have a wii. (and i don't know what do you mean with "free roms provided with dolphin")
i'll check the properties later, because i'm at work now. @Garteal it can happen anytime on any place in the cave. yesterday i tested it again before i zipped the save and "dolphin crashed/freezes" after 1 min (beaten the first group of monsters and a few steps later it freezes) EDIT: i tested it without VBeam Speed Hack now. dolphin crashes/freezes again in the cave (before i reached the next part in there). i used the latest buils (3.5-1374) 05-24-2013, 11:30 AM
Maybe check that the iso is not corrupted: Game Properties > Filesystem > Partition [X] > Check Partition Integrity
Also check that your PC's CPU and GPU are not overheating. 05-25-2013, 02:40 AM
When I was playing xenoblade about a year ago ( could be more ) it was freezing everywhere and it was unavoidable.
I thought it was same bug affecting Last Story and it was fixed. However, every now and then I hear people complaing about it still freezing. If this is the same bug, it can't be tested for only around 20 minutes, because its random, it can happen in 5 minutes and it can happen after 2 hours |
