I'm having two distinct issues that aren't listed on the wiki page. They both happen in the very first tutorial fight. I have a third minor issue (occasional skipping) but as I've read there's no fix yet (its either the audio or loading the shaders from what I understand).

Here are the two big ones:
1. Camera is rotating constantly despite not touching anything. Settings look fine, using a deadzone of 10 and in the settings page the cursor is dead center so it shouldn't be rotating. Emulated wii remote, trying to mimic classic controls using my dualshock 4 running DS4windows (which works fine for GC games).
2. Game froze, inexplicably.

Both issues happened in the very first 'tutorial fight', the one where it teaches you to press l1 or r1 to target enemies.

Here are my settings: http://imgur.com/a/3GgGk

edit:, oddly, both big issues have disappeared in direct3d. I still get the skipping though, everytime I exit the menu and occasionally in fights.

if you can tell me what you did, that would really help me.
But if yamisniper doesn't reply can someone help me? I got this game and run the HD texture packs along with it on Ishiiruka fine, with only slight audio stuttering and whatnot. Anyways, the game looks great when Im running around in Colony 9, but once I enter Tephra cave and any map past it, my resolution takes a huge hit (or somehow im losing my 4x Native rendering). Any clues to what it could be or how I can fix my settings. Im running the game on a ASUS gaming laptop that has an Intel i7 core and Nvidia970 GTX. The laptop is always plugged in while playing, and yes I have played around with the settings alot, but still can't find a solution. The resolution rate is set to 1920x1080 and its already forced by 16:9 ratio. Its on 4x Native, 4x MSAA for AA and 2x for anisotropic filtering.
Really have no idea why the game loses resolution all of a sudden after I leave the first map. Any help or advice that can be given on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

*edit: searching yamis old threads gave me the answer. Please ignore this post.
If youre also having problems, set EFB copies to Texture, as it can be demanding on the ram (especially in Xenoblades case)

Hi. I got problem with options / controller settings. I use keyboard, so in gamecube controller / standard / configure i use DInput/0/Keyboard Mouse. Same with Wiimote. But when game starts and im on Logo screen work only Wiimote. With it i can press start new game and next i have screen with message : "No extension controller is connected to Wii Remote. Connect the Nunchuk or Standard controller." Try on Dolphin 5x64, dolphin-master-4.0-5416-x64 and Ishiiruka.Stable.744(76e898884).x64 . All the same. What i need to do to play with keyboard?

In the settings for the emulated Wii Remote, there's a section called Extension. Change the dropdown there from None to Nunchuk or Classic. Afterwards, you'll need to press Configure to set up the controls for the newly added Nunchuk or Classic Controller.

Look for section "Extension", with droplist of nunchuk or classic controller, every where but cannot find it. Can you tell more properly where is it, or make screenshot?

I have a freeze issue. The game will load normally to the start menu, but freezes on the loading screen after selecting "new game" within 2-3 seconds. The Monado animation stops at exactly the same point every time no matter which changes I try to select.

I just used CleanRip on the Wii and concatenated two files into one iso. I have a growing suspicion that the rip might not have been good or some other problem. The disc is Saudi Arabia region if that makes a difference.

I'm using a Haswell era 4670K, 16GB ram, GTX 1060 on Windows 10.

Dolphin is 5.0.

I've tried changing the following:

- rendering between DirectX 11, 12, and OpenGL.
- VSync on and off.
- 1, 2, and 3x native resolution.
- XFB disabled and virtual.

The disc loading screen behaved as predicted by the wiki page, but I haven't seen my issue in various searches. Is this a known problem, ie- have others encountered it?

edit: I tried build 5.0-3463.

The game loading animation now does not freeze but never finishes. I tried changing to Vulkan rendering with no change.

I've solved my problem by ripping a new iso file.

4:3 Support/Letterbox Removal cheat code causes stuttering on a real Wii console

This isn't exactly related to emulating this game. I just stumbled across this find, after reading the April 2017 progress report, with that mentioning Xenoblade Chronicles, and me playing it right now on my Wii, since my PC is not good enough to run it fullspeed. Thing is, I only have a 4:3 SD CRT, and I was kind of annoyed that it only had a 16:9 mode, creating black bars on 4:3. But when I saw this 4:3 cheat code on the Wiki, I was happily amazed and quickly gave it a try. I wouldn't imagine someone making cheat codes for 4:3, since the retro emulation community generally create support for 16:9, but heck yeah for old CRT users, I guess XD.

First, I tried it on Dolphin, because who knows what would happen, and I also have a 4:3 CRT monitor, so it was like a "scaled" test of sorts. It worked well, so I just added the same code to my USB loader's cheat engine on my Wii. It also worked... But! I immediately noticed some stuttering that never happened before, and I perceived that my Wii started getting hotter. I don't know how this code works exactly, but by the looks of it, this game was supposed to have some kind of 4:3 support, since some menus "create" black bars on place of stretching the background art, and it seems the native 16:9 bars were added over the full view, instead of being correctly scaled that way, so this code would only unlock this mode...

I don't know how the game runs in a native 16:9 display, with the Wii set that way, but I don't think it would stutter... I loved this code because it enhances the experience of playing in my big 29" 4:3 screen, with slightly increased FOV, and since I use component cables, it's that much better. But I don't want to give my Wii a slow death by forcing it out os specs...

So, whoever created or added this code to the Wiki, I wanted to ask if it forces the game to render more stuff, or makes the 16:9 mode correctly scale to 4:3 (because the home menu is "squished" inside the 4:3 screen, while in 4:3 mode without the code showed a correct 4:3 menu, without black bars), or does it simply remove the bars (unlikely, since there are so many lines to this code)? The stutters happen more often in big open fields, like the Bionis' Leg, and during heavy battles with lots of effects, there will be big slowdowns (it happens without the code as well, but less often).

I guess if used on Dolphin, the overclock function would alleviate this issue, but since the game is already slow without doing anything on my PC (sigh...), I will only resort to playing it on the real console, so this enhancement is very welcome for me.

So thank you to whoever added this code there, but I hope it can be reviewed so that it doesn't kill Wiis Big Grin!
