Well, I'm assuming you have a NTSC console, in which case I can't say for sure if it will actually work or not.

Ya I guess I'll just have to take my chances. I wish North American copies weren't so expensive/hard to come by.

I keep getting a audio crackling in the beginning cutscene and when I get into the battle and theirs a explosion it sounds like it busted out my speakers. I've tried messing around in the audio settings to no avail. I've tried messing with the audio latency and changing that between 2 and 10 and there is no difference. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

Need some confirmation if my PC Specs are OK for this game.

CPU - Intel i5-2500k
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 7970
MEM - 8GB Ram
OS - Windows 7 x64

I am using one of the latest versions of Dolphin (4.0-5351) but I am still getting some crackling when I change zones, start of the battles, getting out of the menu, etc.

Some of the settings I've changed are as below:

Sound Settings are on DSP LLE Compiler
Audio Backend OpenAL with Latency at 10ms
EFB Copies on "Texture"

I've already actually tried this 2 years ago and it was unplayable before. Now it is much better but I just want to know if there are anything else I can do to at least try to improve on what is available to me now.

Thank you.

@mioggle, your PC is fine, just change DSP to HLE and you're good to go.

Yeah, also OpenAL with LATENCY AT 10?? You see a hit and hear it half an hour later, eh? Wink
Just use HLE and XAudio2.
Even my old Q6600 could play this game without issues. So for yours it should be a breeze.
If you're still annoyed by those little stutters when getting into new areas or seeing new effects, etc., only Ishiiruka's Async Shader Cache Generator can help you at the moment: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-ishiiruka-dolphin-custom-version

I'm running the latest development build and the game runs great for the most part. However when I enter battles or there's the faded cut scenes I get a slight slowdown almost like a stutter and it dips to like 27 fps for second. It also seems to slow down for a moment when I enter and exit menus. I'm not sure if this is how it's suppose to be, because I've scene other people running it without these issues. Here are my specs/settings

i5 2550k 4.4 ghz
gtx 760 2gb
8gb ram
windows 8.1
Crucial mx 100 ssd (running it off this)

Running the NTSC version
Latest development build available
Open GL: 3x native 2x AA 16x AF (changing internal resolution does not seem to solve this problem) Safe texture cache, EFB set to RAM, I am using the HD texture pack
Audio: HLE, XAudio2 backend
Everything else is set to default

You are seeing two issues:
- shader cache generation. This is especially, when you enter new areas or see new effects. Once those shaders have been generated the stuttering should get less. The first run of a game is the worst one. The only way to get rid of this stuttering is the Async Shader Cache Generation option which only Ishiiruka offers. If you wanna try it, you find it here: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-ishiiruka-dolphin-custom-version
Just keep in mind that it's an unofficial build, so if you are having any issues while using it you should only ask for support in the Ishiiruka thread.
- The HD texture pack. Unfortunately, these stutters are not going away over time. If you are using the ultra quality pack you might want to try the performance pack. There shouldn't ne much of a difference visually. Some other ways of getting rid of this issue are being thought about. One would be for Dolphin to load the whole pack into the VRAM at the start of the game...
Ishiiruka also supports DDS files which are compressed and therefore much smaller than PNG files, so there should also be no stuttering (however, most texture pack creators don't offer DDS packs because they're not supported by Dolphin proper.
