Well in benchmarks it comes off against i3s pretty well but that certainly doesn't mean a whole lot in emulation. Guess I'll be sticking with the old hacked build until I upgrade my CPU, then. Thanks for the info.

Hey i seem to have an issue with the 30FPS patch. I backed up my own copy of Xenoblade and im in Europe, so its a Europe ISO. Dolphin says it is when i run it and it runs fine. However, when i apply the patch it becomes "Japanese" according to dolphin and whenever i try run it, dolphin black screen crashes. I have to force end it with task manager. It worked perfectly before the patch and if i try run my backup i made, it still does run perfectly. Whats wrong? How can i patch it? I am 110% certain this is a Europe version, since Dolphin says so.

Hmm alright. Any ideas on it refusing the run the game? Im stumped. No matter how many different backups and patches i apply, it has the same result. As soon as i try load it, it opens the ISO in a black screen and then crashes. I REALLY want to play this in 30fps :L/ 25 feels so..sluggish. Its one of the reasons i couldn't play it on my Wii. my PC can handle 30 fps i just wish this patch would work. I've tried both the one form the wiki and the one included in the HD pack. Theyre the same one but still, i tried both.

I just finished my first playthrough and it let me save the data onto another file for a second playthrough, but it doesn't load. I attempt to load it and it like disconnects the Emulated wiimote, but when I connect it back, I am taken to the title screen, and it just keeps happening.

This can happen if a save state is loaded before defeating the last boss and creating the NG+ save file. Loading save states, then performing a normal save, do not seem to corrupt normal saves, just the NG+ save. The obvious solution is to start Dolphin, load your game, and complete it without loading a save state. I know this is a rather old post and he resolved his issue, but it shouldn't hurt to make this more known.

Warning- spoilers and impotent rage below.

I think this game is awful. I found it very boring in the first few hours, to the point where I dropped it and didn't come back for a month. After forcing myself back in and getting a better hold of the combat system I enjoyed it more, but it never became fun- just satisfying and addictive in a very tedious sort of way.

The worlds are huge and impressive but they're also empty and dull. Even Hyrule Field in TP had more to do relative to its size and at least gave you a horse to traverse more quickly. The sidequests are also incredibly uninspired and repetitive; who has the time and interest to actually 100% all these mad-lib fetch quest lists?

I reached points where I simply wanted to quit out of sheer frustration- Gadolt's fight with its nonstop one hit kills was one of them- but I powered through and kept trying. Then the Disciple Loritha fight finally broke me. Just as I begin the battle and access my arts my characters are already taking 4000+ damage, and none of the characters are reliable at healing the team. The game forces you to fight 4 annoying little enemies before even engaging the boss, and each of them even absorb 5 minutes of punishment without dying. Loritha keeps rolling around and steamrolling your team with catastrophic damage while you do this, and just to make sure the fight is entirely unpalatable there are pits of acid in the room that the orbs are determined to float over so that you'll be unable to attack them without the simpletons on your team falling in and dying.

After about 10 deaths I just deleted the rip from my PC altogether. It was painful to do after investing so much, but it was better than spending another moment slogging through that tedious nightmare.

I was sure I'd buy XC: X, but now I'm not very interested. I know a lot of people love this game and consider it the best RPG of last gen, so maybe I'm just a bad player, but to me it felt like a wasteful chore to play. At least the music and art were great.

Well thanks for sharing your thoughts. Sad to see it wasn't enjoyable for you. There's so many I disagree with, but I don't think it's needed to state that as you're perfectly entitled to your opinion.
If the beautiful vast environments didn't awe you, then I don't think "giving it another try" would change your opinion.

Guess who couldn't stick to his guns (spoiler): https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8613/15330061193_81d61b13e5_o.png

I still feel like many of the fights were tastelessly designed, but I feel a lot better for finishing it. I'm also feeling better about giving X a chance now. This game had a great atmosphere and some impressive spectacle and I wonder what Monolith will pull off with Wii U's hardware. It already seems to be delivering better visuals than the PS3/360 even with the huge scale...
