Is it possible to connect a real Gameboy Advance with the Link cable to the WII U Gamecube Adapter to play Games that use the GameCube and Gameboy link function. It would be freaking awesome to finally play Zelda Four Swords Adventures and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Multiplayer with actual Gameboy advances. If the Gamecube Controller works fine by default in Dolphin with no drivers needed shouldn't it be possible to connect a GameBoy to Dolphin also? Wouldn't all you would need to do is just change the controller port selection on Dolphin to GBA right? Sense I don't have the adapter I cant test it, its really freaking hard to find one!!! Sad

No, the gamecube adapter supports regular controllers only.

How do you know did you try testing the Game Boy Advance connected to the GameCube Adapter?

According to skid (the one who made the native support in Dolphin), the Official GameCube Controller Adapter for the Wii U doesn't reveal the raw input, acting as a sort of glorified HID device. Without access to the raw serial input, GBA link can't be used. Sorry. Sad

OK Thank You. Now I at least know way it doesn't work. I guess the chance of a dedicated Gameboy Advance to Dolphin Emulator is forever out of the question.

There was work done a while ago to get an emulator called Higan to work with Dolphin, but it was severely limited in what it could actually do. Give the devs some time, it'll eventually be implemented.

Don't mind tueidj's attitude, he's a bit rough around the edges, but he really knows what he's doing. And yeah, where did your dev title go? Can you re-add it from for profile editor?

@KHg8m3r - byuu isn't actively developing Higan anymore, so any changes to that emulator will have to come from interested parties (shuffle2, jchadwick) rather than byuu. Yes, yes, I'm "tooting my horn" again, but I'm serious when I say GBE+ is getting closer to getting this feature at least experimentally implemented in some form. At the minimum Sonic Advance would be a good candidate, since that's one of the more prominent GBA<->GCN games I can boot at this time.

There are at least a few other emulator authors as well like Subv and endrift (the latter is way ahead of me by a year of development at least). I don't know if they're interested in this feature at all, but there are a couple of us out there dabbling with GBA emulation.
