Wii U Adapter & Gamecube Controller Issues

[Regrettage]

I'm trying to play SSBM with my new gamecube controller and its wii u adapter, but when I try to install drivers for it using zadig, all the guides show me the dropdown is supposed to show "WUP-028", and I'm getting "Gamecube Controller Adapter". I decided to install it anyway with Massive's software, but in the wii u gc software it says "GCN adapter not detected". I tried an older version, and it said "LibUSB not detected".
Windows 7 Professional Service Package 1
Intel i7 2620M 2.70GHz
Nvidia Quadro 3000m
8 GB ram no idea what brand
