Does anyone have a fix yet for the freeze at the first sight of the second world's map? Switching audio options does not work, the newest rev (5518) does not work...someone mentioned a patch in this thread....has a SVN been compiled yet that incorporates it?
I played through the entire first world perfectly fine with 5474, after I get the grand star and JUST as I'm about to be able to control the map of world 2 I get a total freeze. Same thing with 5518 now. Please tell me someone has found a fix! 05-28-2010, 03:12 AM

I used the same trick mentioned in this thread before. This trick also worked with the Super Mario Galaxy 1 freeze after defeating bowser. Just deactivate everything in the DSP plugin and choose OpenAL and volume to 1%. Then restart dolphin. Then play Super Mario Galaxy and don't use save states. Use the ingame save option and play through the whole level. Do not reactivate sound during gameplay. It should work when you really don't use save states. Believe me, just do it without it At least it works with 5475.

So how playable is SMG2 on dolphin I plan to try it after I get 100% on the game o.o...

A lot of people do it wrong by using save states or something else, that's why I wrote a detailed discription. If it doesn't work, you can try the patch posted a few pages before, but you have to apply it first. Otherwise just wait for a newer version of Dolphin. However, what systems and plugins you're using? I don't know how it is with OpenGL, but it works very well with Direct3D

There really is no way to do this particular workaround 'wrong'. Believe me, I've run through Gobblegut like 15 times with this fix enabled, I get the freeze every time. I use the DX9 and HLE plugins, LLE causes Dolphin to crash right away whenever I try to use it, I will offer the error code when I'm back at my apartment.
I would love to apply this miracle patch that was linked, but I have absolutely no idea how to go about doing this. Is it relatively simple? I have no knowledge of coding or anything. My trick is the next for these freezing: I playing the game svn 5472 x64 Before i go the Boss fight,/last stage in world/,copy my save folder in the Dolphin 2.0 x64,and with this settings,/see the attachment/ not freezing the emulator in the next world, and not black screen after you take the grand star. Well the game saving in the next world i copy back the save folder to svn 5472 and continue the game with sound and best graphic settings, and fullscreen. So the save foldier: User/Wii/title and you don't use the Shift+F5 /savestate/ saving in the Dolphin 2.0!! I'm now in World 5 in the game. sorry my english Here is a better pictures from the attachment : http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/6293/dolphinsi.jpg Picture Update march 27. 11:40PM-->the D3d settings missed the old picture. |
