Hi all,

This is my first post so welcome me to the forums! Smile

I have been testing SMG2 with Dolphin 3.0 64bit and must say it runs near perfect at a consistent 60fps under directx11 setting.

However, there is one small problem. The toadstools and bushes appear to have a flickering/flashing effect under directx11 and OpenGL modes.

The issue is not present in directx9 however I cannot keep a constant 60fps unless dx11 is used.

Thanks

Hikari

Welcome to the forums!

Where in the game do you experience these texture flickering?
I'd like to reproduce this on my end.

It would also help if you shared your settings, so we can see if you've got something setup wrong.

It occurs on the very first level where mario gets beamed to the first planet right after you see the enormous Wario.

There are green furns or bushes as you may call them which flicker when using dx11.

Just try that part of the game in dx11 and see if you can replicate the bug.

I will post back more settings in dolphin shortly.

thanks

Lol, that's Bowser.

Yes, I can confirm that the bushes and Goomba's flicker in DirectX11.
I've tried both Dolphin 3.0, and the latest GIT version. Both have the same result.
It seems like this is a lighting issue.

You can file an issue about this here so the devs can work on a fix.

Does anyone know if any progress was made on this or have a ticket link? I have the exact same issue as the OP, Direct3D9 looks the best, but I get framerate drops, whereas Direct3D11 maintains 60+ fps but has the texture/lighting issue on some objects.

I experimented with several options to no avail.

*edit* I found the ticket, someone responded saying use the latest build, but the OP said they're using 3.0. Is there a newer version?
