Even A Corei7 Q720 1.60GHz up to 2.8 GHz wouldn't Be Enough to Run it?!

It's way too slow. Of course you can run the game. But not at decent speed. Above all if you use LLE.

Btw the freeze you got might've been caused by "LLE on Thread" if you checked the option

It never reach that point because 2.8GHz is single core mode
i7 720QM Turbo frequency :
_2800 MHz (1 core)
_2400 MHz (2 cores)
_1733 MHz (3 or 4 cores)

Dolphin is a dual core application . Your CPU will be up to 2.4GHz max

Not mention Mario Galaxy 1& 2 require a very good GPU , GeForce 310M definitely bottleneck the game even with lowest settings

Ok guys, I've read the entire thread to try to avoid posting an annoying question, and I'm still lost. Can anyone tell me if this will run on my computer? It's a macbook pro 2.3 ghz intel core i7 with 8 gb 1600 mhz ddr3. With the default Dolphin settings it runs at about 60%. I dropped it down to 2x native, 2x anti-aliasing 1x anisioscopic filtering and have only scaled efb copy checked in the enhancements--now it's running at 45-50 fps. I'd still like to do better...

With that CPU 60-70% speed average is a good performance. With 45-50fps (75-80% speed) you should be happy Big Grin

No laptop can run SMG 1 & 2 full speed (except 3000$ gaming laptop with i7 extreme edition @ 4.0GHz or higher). If you use LLE , you will lose more FPS for compatibility
If you want full speed , you will have to build a desktop : i5 3570k/i7 3770k @ 4.2GHz , Z77 mobo , GTX 650 for 3x Internal Resolution or GTX 660 for 4xIR

Ok, well I'm going to rest content with my 50 fps then. I tried dropping the settings down even more and it just became really ugly with the same frame rate. It basically looked like Mario 64. My question now is how the f- do I map the shake function?!? I managed to do it for new super mario bros.--it was just the x-axis under the shake column in controller settings. I know this is possible--I will not rest until I map it to L1...

I wonder whether this is always going to be the case, or possible future emulation improvements would possibly make the game playable at full speed with, say, an i7 3630QM @ 2.4GHz. Huh

What do you guys think? Is there any room for hope?

No way.

Hardware improvements might make the game run full-speed at lowest clock speed. 2500k requires 4.5GHz, 3570k requires 4.2GHz, future Haswell CPUs probably less...
