A new, old bug? The old problem of the second stage hanging at the loading screen is back. Unleashed worked fine in the release version of 4.0.2 but not in the latest builds. I haven't tested enough to know which build caused this to become broken again.

4.0-563 and 4.0-564? I believe those break the OpenGL renderer in this game but it still loads fine on those builds in Direct3D. Switching to JITIL allows the game to work in Direct3D with the latest builds but at the cost of performance, using JIT breaks it.

After further testing, it became broken in build 4.0-660

That being said, 4.0-659 has issues in the Werehog levels compare to 4.0.2 (Sonic doesn't walk on the floor, he walks sideways in midair and weirdly flails).

I can confirm Werehog problem, currently (4.0-1487) Werehog's dashing animation is broken.

Find the build that broke it and fill out an issue report.

Dolphin 4.0-6970 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 freezes while Dolphin 3.5-2450 for the same system has not these problems. Sorry for necroposting.

Posting game specific issues / problems in the game's thread is not considered necroposting. Instead it's exactly what you should do, as new users are not allowed to create new threads inside System-specific (Gc/Wii etc) subforums.

As for your problem, could you provide some more information (in which situation the freezes happen? what settings?).
To verify that this really happens with the newest build (and that your old Dolphin settings are not messing it up) you should extract the new build into a new directory and create an empty portable.txt in the same folder as the .exe file is. This way Dolphin will use and save it's settings within that folder and not use the common (potentially outdated) settings of the user folder.
