Wii sensor bar

Hey guys, I am just wondering i need to order a replacement Wii Sensor bar just wondering are they all compatible with windows/ wii motes? something like this

I have a Wii mote + a Numchuck.. just wondering if i ordered that Sensor and a BLuetooth usb adapter would it work? or maybe this

they all work by bluetooth and should all work with windows

did you even read his post or click the link? It's a wireless sensor bar for ir tracking. On a real wii, there's no data transfer between the wii and the sensor bar. Wiimote connects by bluetooth, so you need a bluetooth adapter like this: http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11866 and the sensor bar for Ir tracking/moving of cursor.

Ya, I'm pretty sure that all you'll need is bluetooth for your computer, and then a sensor bar for the wiimote to have parameters. You can actually make a sensor bar for less than $10, just check out this video. I haven't tried it yet, but in theory it should work fine.

1) All you need for sensor bar is only 4 AA batteries, then you just put it on your display (on top or bottom)

2) Wiimote & Nunchuck are connected through Bluetooth (check posts above)

To prove the point, try this:

1. Unplug your sensor bar from your Wii.
2. Light 2 candles, or have someone hold 2 lighters up lit.
3. Pretend the flames are the ends of the sensor bar.

See? The Wiimote works fine. All it needs are 2 strong IR sources. ANY IR source works for this.

i had something different recently
the wiimote was confused: the sensor bar , or the 2 mirrored images of the sun Tongue

i could use both to the point the sun moved and the mirror images made the wiimote confused as the mirrored images were kinda in the way of the sensor bar

bottom line, any IR light source x2 will work, even the sun

the correct wavelength is necessary though. 940nm iirc.

I would suggest not going generic, I have heard some are poor design...

I bought this sensor bar: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3643 and it works fine. The only downside is that it takes 4x AAA batteries, but I have rechargables so it's no big deal. I wish they had it in black though.

EDIT: Okay I take that back. I've only had it for four days and I'm already having problems. Avoid this sensor bar.
