This is a great example of why hacks are bad, and why specifically, allowing users to boot WADs without installing is *really* bad and inaccurate.Yeah i wish i would have known, i spent so much time trying to solve this. Quick question, how reliable is the individual game save export? I ask because it's still labeled experimental and has been that way for years. Thanks for the help!

Should be pretty reliable. I have never had it fail, but I am not familiar enough with the code to tell more.

After doing everything i mentioned and getting all the saves working by creating saves from scratch in game importing my own personal saves still breaks the system menu save file manager. All i did was take one of my exported saves for my Wii games (virtual console games excluded) and imported it. After the import i went to the save file manager and the save file banners were broken and exiting back to the main system menu screen caused a crash. I really don't understand whats going on
Have you played the game at least once in Dolphin with that NAND?

Odd.
Unfortunately the log you have is kind of too huge, which makes it hard to figure out the issue. Could you provide logs that start right before you choose "save management"? Then stop logging a few seconds after you choose the option and the issue does happen. 06-07-2017, 05:49 PM

Fwiw, I can't seem to reproduce your issue with save files. Here is what I did on a clean profile:
1. Install the system menu (4.3). 2. Import a save file in Dolphin. 3. Start the system menu. 4. Go to the save management screen, observe that the save does not appear. (This is expected, because the game was never started before.) No crash. 5. Launch the game. 6. The save file is now recognised by the system menu. No crash. 06-07-2017, 10:36 PM

I followed your steps and it worked. Except virtual console titles were still a little tricky. I had to launch them, exit then install to nand and finally! Now all my saves for Wii, Virtual Console, and Gamecube games are accessible in the wii system menu. Everything is working perfectly in the wii menus, all the functionality is there. I tried every feature the menu supports. I'm able to launch virtual console channels, disc channel, mii channel and the wii shop channel works. Even copying virtual titles to the virtual sd card and playing them works. However now that the wii system menu is working perfectly for me something strange is going on.... I'm able to launch all my virtual console titles from the wii system menu just fine, but for some reason now when i try to launch certain virtual console titles from dolphins gui like super smash bros. 64 it will launch the wii health and safety warning screen. You know the black screen you would normally see turning on a wii. After it gets past it just takes me to the system menu. These titles were working just fine when i would launch them from dolphins gui before i had the system menu working perfectly..... I'm about to give up this makes no sense to me. Want a log? I'm clueless on this one man. Update: Ok so i somehow found the cause of this new issue. There is a file called NANDBOOTINFO (without file extension) located in documents>dolphin>wii>shared2>sys. When i remove this file all my virtual console titles launch just fine again from dolphins gui. As soon as i place it back the same behavior returns. What is this file and is it essential for the wii system menu to function properly? |
