You might want to describe your setup, because the game is more or less fully playable with 3.0 onwards. I've had a couple minor stability issues, but no playability problems. I've been playing using an emulated wiimote (mouse+keyboard) and I'm on Spring 21, no problems with conversations or shopping at all. Since the game has almost no mandatory motion controls (the only exception is knocking, which requires you to shake the nunchuk), I suggest trying that if you are using a real wiimote. I mapped the nunchuk accelerometer to home/end/del/pgdn and when I need to knock, I just mash those keys until it responds. Problems I _have_ encountered: - Occasionally the audio will glitch out and start playing static over the music. Happens seemingly at random and doesn't go away until I quit/restart Dolphin. - Had a repeatable crash in v. 7714 on day 21. The release note for 7716 mentioned a segfault being fixed, and 7716 hasn't crashed on me yet, so this one may be fixed. - Turning on per-pixel lighting makes the game dialog menus unreadable (i.e. the sleep menu that appears when you interact with your bed). 08-17-2011, 05:31 PM
Game works fast and perfect for me. Works with all default Dolphin settings (and works if you raise graphics up a bit too)
A few issues but easy to live with. Game may randomly crash while heading to new area. Make sure you save in-game as Save States lead to a black-screen and looped music. Game twitches a bit when viewing large areas such as Market District. Not sure if this is the game's fault, but the "wiimote" won't reconnect if you leave the game alone for a while. Fiddling with the setting to try and reconnect will just crash the game. Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium (x64) SP2 CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 840 (Quad-Core, 3.2ghz) Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series (1gb) RAM: 4gb Dolphin Version: 3.0 08-18-2011, 05:10 AM
I've had no problems reconnecting the virtual wiimote using ALT+F5. I've been having the game randomly crash more frequently the farther I get into it. It seems to happen more frequently if I'm doing farm stuff (particularly harvesting) compared to dungeon stuff. I've put the log level as high as it will go and the most information I get is in exceptioninfo.txt:
Code: Unhandled Exception This occurs with build 7716 (latest as of this writing) and with the stock 3.0 release. 08-18-2011, 05:44 AM
Crashes just happen randomly with me. Does happen worse in windowed mode, when I tried to play while watching videos, or if I alt tab. Refraining from that and crashes seems somewhat rare, every 2-3 hours at most. You should be saving often, but it's still annoying. I think I'm done with the game myself...40ish hours in. I just watched some youtube videos for different events and "endings" with the other relationships. I wanted to see that stuff but there was no way I'd put in another 50-80 hours.

So i am about 9 hours into the game and it was running perfectly, AA turned up to 4x Ai turned on to 8x, using direct x11, solid 30 frames the entire time never dips besides on short loads. runs great, loving the game
but now randomly my sound has gone all insane, making scratching and poping sounds, tried restarting a few times and it just instantly starts back up again. sometimes it will go away for like 3 or 4 minutes, but something keeps retriggering it. any clues? amd phenom x3 720 black edition radeon hd 5870 1gig ddr5 4gigs ddr3 08-25-2011, 09:38 AM

I think it's just general DSP HLE bugginess. Have you tried one of the LLE options? When you say you "tried restarting a few times" are you talking about your entire computer, exiting and relaunching the emulator, or stopping/starting emulation (without exiting the emulator)? 08-25-2011, 10:18 AM
restarting the emulator and stopping the iso

Skates,
You said you got it to work at a perfect 30FPS everywhere. Can you tell me your system specs, most notably your video card? Also, are you running on DirectX or OpenGL? (Sorry if you answered this before, I didn't see it.) I get lots of slowdown in busy areas, especially if there are lots of runeys. Was wondering if I need a new video card. (Mine's an nVidia 9600GT) |
