Wait a minute. If I'm not mistaken, only the Wii version supports the 16:9 ratio. But here you're saying the opposite. I think that the GC version will have stretched sprites (and anything else that's not rasterised) if you're playing it in 1920x1080 but you probably didn't notice it. And graphically, they're exactly the same. There are only two differences, the support for widescreen ratio and the wiimote controls. So if you're not using the native resolution in both they should seem the same...
