So after going through hell last week, first with an unresponsive 3rd party wiimote and then with one of those pesky "motion inside" -TR jobbies, I finally managed to get a standard (and official) wiimote working perfectly through the windows stack. I played Mario Galaxy for a few hours and it was glorious! At the end of the night I shut my PC off and drifted off to sleep comfortable and safe in the knowledge that I would forever be able to waggle with my PC.
Disaster struck about 4 hours ago when I booted up my tower, excited to get my Gomba smash on. I was shocked and horrified to find that my wiiremote would no longer hold a connection; I would pair in the usual way- steadily pressing 1+2, selecting Nintendo RVL-CNT-01 ("connecting device" is very slow), selecting pair without code ("configuring device" is again very slow), and it would finally display the screen "This device has successfully been added to this computer" and "Windows is now checking for drivers..."... windows however seems to do nothing of the sort, giving me no "installing drivers" pop up or the chime i'm accustomed to. The remote shuts off pretty sharpish after this whole process and "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01" is grayed out in Devices and Printers. I repeated this several times with no joy.
Flailing about and disillusioned I thought I may of just got unlucky and the wiimote has just decided to break on me, so I dusted off my (also windows 7) laptop and tried pairing it to that. Success first time.
"Gahhhhhh!" I exclaimed, "Why have the blue toothy gods forsaken me!"
Back to my Desktop. The hours of google scouring I had done previously had shown me that quite a lot people having problems with the windows stack were finding success with bluesoleil so I grabbed a trial of that and found a tutorial to connect my wiimote. Success, I am able to connect the remote as a "HID Device" and the LED's of the wiimote continue to flash merrily as if successfully paired.
Now here's where s**t gets weird.
Elated I booted up dolphin and clicked on the wii remote tab, under real wii remotes it says that 1 is connected. I am a genius and will be remembered throughout history as the boy that could. Giggling like a school girl I double clicked on Mario Galaxy.
BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!!
I fall out of my chair and lay quivering in a heap on the floor. "What have I done to deserve such punishment!" I howl to no one in particular.
Scared and alone I boot back into windows; everything is functioning fine as usual. I tentatively connect my remote through BS again and connects as before, unlike before however, dolphin no longer recognizes any wii remotes. Maybe it's dolphin? Nope, WiinRemote picks up nothing either.
I come to you now fellow Dolphiners as a broken man. Is there anyone out there that has any idea what is going on? Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Note: I have also tried another bluetooth dongle and recieved the same results.
