I've been having this strange issue for months now. Whenever I have 2 wii remotes connected when I open certain games the 2nd player's wii remote will suddenly be disconnected and all 4 lights will turn soild. I am using a dolphin bar and I have tried just about every fix I could find. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, used many different versions of dolphin, tried multiple beta versions, multiple development versions, and the most recent sable version, used multiple different wii remotes, disabled (and tried enabling) speaker data, created a "portable.txt" in the dolphin folder, delted user folder (many times), ect. The problem only occurs with 2 wii remotes and only ever to the second player. The problem also only occurs in certain games, and is most common in .gcz files however not all .gcz files have this problem. All the games that do not work require 2 wii remotes for at least some modes in the game. Anyone know any fixes?

Are you using only .gcz, or are they nkit.gcz format?
Wii games aren't lossless when compressed in gcz format cause it does some scrubbing, so it's possible something got messed up. If they're nkit format, that's also not a lossless compression format and can definitely cause issues with games. You can try converting them back to ISO and see if the problem goes away, but keep in mind that those ISO files will still not be 1:1 good dumps anymore, and can still have problems. If you need good compression without issues, take your original game ISO dumps, make sure they pass the Verify check, and then convert them to RVZ (a lossless compression format). 04-18-2023, 06:22 AM

Nowadays, Dolphin only does that scrubbing if you specifically enable it. And either way, I don't think the scrubbing can cause problems like this. Running Verify never hurts, though. |
