Hello all,

After scouring the internet for a similar problem to mine i've had no luck. Ive just purchased a new macbook pro retina (model specs should be below) and got a compiled version of dolphin setup for it. Mario Bros Wii looks absolutely spectacular in 2550x1600 but ive run across a problem in donkey kong returns.

There seems to be alot of dark shadows, not sure if this is due to textures or what but i hope someone can point me in the right direction of sorting this out or if anyone else has experienced this same issue!

My apologies if this has already been covered somewhere else or if it is a silly simple fix. Im new to wii emulation.

Screenshot as follows.. as you can see, DK's house should be full bright colour, DK is also very dark.

Yet another case of Apple's not-so-hot OpenGL drivers? It's hard to tell exactly if that's the issue at hand for you, but like admin89 said, you can generally expect fewer problems like this using the DirectX9 backend on Windows. You might have better luck using the official Dolphin 3.0 (that's 3.0 without any additional numbers). It's usually pretty stable, whereas 3.0-759 is pretty experimental atm.

It could be something with your settings. Click on the Config button and look at the General tab. Click on the Graphics button and look at the General, Hacks, and Enhancements tabs. Those are the most relevant settings we need to know from you.
