[Wii] Overlord: Dark Legend

Just an update on this. Dark Legend is all sorts of broken with the current release of Dolphin.
Prior to 3.5 ( not sure which revision, but I'll likely be checking again over the weekend ), the game was missing letters in subtitles, had issues with excessive bloom, some slowdown, but mainly just during larger fights/conversations, and a broken map. ( opening the map would lead to a backpatch failure, apparently this is already known and is a software issue? ) Post 3.5, it seems some of that stuff got fixed ( the bloom has become manageable, 90% of letters are in place over 60% previously, and the slowdown is gone. ), the problem is the second you start loading the second zone ( the Throne Room ), you will get a backpatch error which crashes it. I've tried fiddling with some settings, but am not versed enough in Dolphin to know what might fix it. I was using the same PC with both tests, the pre3.5 test was done on a Win7 build, and the post3.5 test was done after I had to reformat my PC. Specs for test is an i5-3570k, HD 7950, and 8 gigs of DDR3. 04-28-2013, 09:42 AM
The best deal for this game is to use old builds. Dolphin 3.0 and even older builds

The big problem being that 3.0 doesn't include Bluestack support, and Win8 doesn't allow you to add Wiimotes without a pairing code, so you are forced to use Bluestack. So combat is really unwieldy, and iI can't seem to move on, since even when remapped, Z won't actually do a melee. Outside of that, all the cutscenes run at a snails pace, unlike with 3.5, Guess I'll just keep waiting to see if something changes in the future. Thanks for the suggestion though. |
