Exclamation
Hello,
I have been reading all over the net trying to figure out my problem, and i'm guessing someone here may be quick enough to know exactly what is wrong.
Right now i have an ISO of DJ Hero (which i own the physical real Wii copy of) that will not play in dolphin. When i press play i get an all black screen with a bunch of yellow writing. The screen just stays like that forever until i press esc.

My computer:
i5-3570k @ 4ghz, 4gb, 60gb ssd, 1tb hdd, AMD HD6870 1GB, Asrock Z77 ITX motherboard in Silverstone ITX case, 3x Dell U2410 IPS monitors.

Black Wii w/ Homebrew IOS58
Cleanrip installed as dump to ISO
Dumping ISO onto 16GB USB Flashdrive on Wii
Transferring file from USB flashdrive to HDD before opening with Dolphin.

I have tried 3 versions of dolphin from 3.0 vanilla to latest, and one random in between.

I've tried OpenGL, DX9 & DX11

I also tried ripping Super Mario Bros Wii last night twice and both error'd at about 95%. An ISO was still created but would not open correctly on my PC.

Should i be using something better/different than Cleanrip to create the ISO from my Wii?

Really appreciate your help.

I will be making a youtube video of me playing DJ hero 2 on my PC across 3 screens if i can get this working Smile

Edit:
Screenshot from my cellphone - my computer would not let me actually "print screen" this for some reason. The result was simply a black screen and no yellow writing.

Black screens like that are almost always caused by bad dumps. You should keep dumping your discs until you get something Dolphin can read. You should download a tool that will generate MD5 hashes for files and compare your hash with verified working dumps online (google around the redump.org forums). If they match up, your dump is fine (though if the problem persists, we'll have to look elsewhere for the cause) and if they don't you'll need to keep dumping the game until you get it right.

Make sure your discs are clean (not much you can do about scratches) before attempting to dump. Try to notice if there's anything wrong with the Wii's disc drive; mine went screwy once and Nintendo ended up having to fix it. If you want to try other homebrew software, I've heard good things about USBLoaderGX.

SUCCESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
So today i did more research into what this whole cIOS thing is so that i could try USB Loader GX.
I was able to rip both Super Mario Wii & DJ Hero 1 to a USB flash drive (pretty fast might i add) and then use Wii Backup Manager to convert those files correctly into ISOs that dolphin will open.
Now my new problem is getting Dolphin to work with the turntable. This is way harder than i would have imagined, but theres a thread here:
http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=12429&page=8&highlight=SVN+6286
Youtube link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfaP3yz7Fmc
I tried overwriting the dolphin file on my hard drive with the one from the youtube link x64 and it said i need wiiuse.dll to open dolphin now with a big error.

Not sure what to do next Sad

I would suggest formatting your USB (if not already) to the NTFS filesystem. Most backup loaders support that filesystem, so you shouldn't run into any problems.
FAT32 only supports files up to 4GB, which will result in a bad dump with dual-layered games such as Brawl.

Don't try to use random files you find in outdated threads. They're not compatible with recent Dolphin versions.

The turntable should be fully supported.
If you're trying to use an emulated Wiimote with the turntable extension, simply set it up by going to:
Options -> Wiimote Settings -> Configure (Emulated Wiimote) -> Set extension to turntable (Extension) -> Configure (Extension).

I tried doing that but was having a hard time configuring the turntable in the extension to match the turntable.

Are you using a real turntable, or your keyboard as a turntable? If you're using a real one you should set it to real wiimote and let the game detect the turntable rather than emulating one you actually have.

I have another question for you - you said to use emulated wiimote? I have the real wiimote connected to the wii turntable. Should i be using hybrid?

Nope, use real. That means you should never even reach the menu Garteal took a screenshot of.
