Call me crazy, but I think repeated wiimote disconnections are caused by a real wii re-connecting to your wiimote.

I'd often power on my wii just to use the sensor bar with Dolphin, but even though I've synced the wiimote to my PC I end up controlling the wii instead.

I don't have a wiimote and it happens.

Same problem, wiimote disconnected.....
For me, the game thinks a new wiimote is connecting during the game,no? Undecided

I don't have a real Wii...So that can't be it.

I run NSMB NTSC and I have had the wiimote disconnect issue above (using emulated wiimotes and xbox 360 controllers, no real wiimotes involved).

I fixed it by making sure I toggle the "tools> connect wiimote 1" option so that there is a checkmark next to it. If I leave no checkmark, the first wiimote still works for some reason but then disconnects a little while later.

If you are getting the wiimote disconnected error and then the game freezes with a sound loop, you need to do the PPF patch since I'm guessing you're running an unpatched NTSC copy.

This morning I was sad and frustrated since I could play but wiimote #1 (emulated) would disconnect after 10 or so minutes of play, so I couldn't get past level 1-4 or so. Now this evening, after patching my NTSC ISO's main.dol with the appropriate PPF patch (see first post) and toggling the wiimote options properly in the tools menu, I was able to play to level 5 with no problems with my roommate (both of us using emulated wiimotes with xbox360 controllers).

A+

thanks bugmenot, ill try this to see if it fixes it from disconnecting when i lose focus of the emulator.. if not no biggy. ive only had the disconnect thing happen twice, and it was from alt tabbing out or getting an aim message.

im also using a xbox 360 control btw.

Win7 64bit...I don't see any reason why not to move on to Win7...also 64bit makes a performance difference in Dolphin!

@ Cameron: You have an uncommon graphical glitch there...the pyramids should look different...maybe you have to install latest DirectX (August) and/or latest gfx drivers.

Interesting that you'd mention about closing all programs. I have a hunch that the wiimote-disconnects are CPU-load related... I'm not sure how I'd collect the data on that, but that's why it's a hunch...
