Connecting the remote and getting into the game and stuff works just fine, but sometimes the image freezes in game (but never on the map) and the sound still continues to play.
After completing a level, I save a state in case it freezes again, and when it does, I simply press F1 and try again.. No need to reset of reload the whole game, which I have tried as well a few times

So it's only freezing in-level.. Sometime I play for like 20 mins, but other times it will freeze in 3 minutes, so can't really tell what it freezes on

Please, tell if you have any idea
And thank you

I am having the same exact problem when playing this game.

Anyone has an idea what could be happening here?

Also using the 3.0-153 x86

EDIT*************

Didn't read the OP notes:

NTSC users (both NTSC-U and NTSC-J) would need to use this trick or else the game will freeze every 5-10 minutes ingame:

1. Get WiiScrubber, NSMB.Wii PPF-Patches package and PPF-O-Matic (Google them, don't ask in this thread)
2. Run MakeKeyBin.exe for generating 2 files: key.bin and kkey.bin and place these files in WiiScrubber's folder
3. Run WiiScrubber and extract main.dol of your NSMB Wii iso
4. Patch this main.dol with PPF-O-Matic using right region PPF-Patch
5. Replace maid.dol you patched with one in your iso with WiiScrubber and save
6. Have fun!

I have some issues:

-freeze + broken savegame

- sound loop

- quicksave is useless

Using newest Dolphin.

Any fixes to the issues?

What's your computer specs guys?
And which settings for Dolphin do you use.

I'm using the official stable 3.0 x64 version of Dolphin along with my PAL copy of the game.
i7 2600K along with a 2GB HD6950 card.

Everything smooth as butter.

Edit:

Played an hour earlier, still smooth as butter.
I'm using kinda safe settings (flame me if any setting name is wrong, I'm to lazy to check)

General settings tab:

Enable Dual Core ticked
Enable Idle Skipping ticked
Framelimit: Auto
Lock Threads to Cores unticked

Wii settings tab:

EuRGB60 unticked
Wiimote Speaker volume lowered down to Min.
Aspect Ratio 16:9

Game specific settings:

Enable Dual Core ticked
Enable Idle Skipping ticked
Disable Wiimote Speaker ticked
Widescreen ticked

Audio settings tab:

I use DSP LLE as sound output for best experience.
Enable DTK ticked
Audio Throttle unticked.

Graphical settings:

I use Direct3D9 only, less problems.
1920x1080 resolution
Aspect Ratio: Auto
Vsync ticked
3xNative selected
Scaled EFB Copy ticked
Ignore Format Changes ticked
EFB To Texture selected
Fast Mipmaps ticked
Disable Per-Pixel Depth ticked
Disable External Frame Buffer ticked

That's the basic settings I use, and they work very well.

Edit 2: Cleaned up the settings I posted earlier.

the game wont work right form start (PUT ON AND TIGHTEN THE...)
I did all what the patching says (PAL version) everything is done without errors
also checked out the setting from GEN to VIDEO (compared it with what is on the first page)

but still cant run on 3.0(orig) even on higher version

but when i tried it on the r7227 works fine even without patching...

what to do, download the NTSC and patched it before playing?

ive just tried out something i dont know if it will work on others but for me (though having this problem at first) this solved it anyway...
so here it is...

1. mount your ISO game(your New Super Mario Brods Wii) to any (i think, but for me i used daemon tools) virtual cd/dvd tools out there
2. on dolphin, dont play the game using the shortcut mode(meaning double clicking the game in the directory of Dolphin windows)
3. use the FILE --> Boot from CD/DVD drive --> [the drive on where you mount your NSMBW ISO]
4. while the game is loading... there will be a pop up of DISC READ ERROR
- if this happen, just click OK though, the game will still resume...

no more patching with the PPF...

so i hope this will help

It won't help until you find out the exact revision that caused the problem.

Do NTSC versions still need to be patched? The OP was last updated what will be two years ago tomorrow, and Dolphin has come a long way since then.

I just completed World 7 on 3.0-235, not a single problem. Oh, and running the game using RAM now only de-rez's the spinning coins, and nothing else. Yay!
P.S. Oh, and I'm running the PAL version too (using EuRGB60 mode as well to make it run at 60fps).
Windows 10 x64
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3Ghz OC'd to 4.1Ghz
Corsair XMS3 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM
Radeon HD 6850
