Hi! Sorry if this is a generalized performance issue(I don't think it is...) but everything's running in slow mo. No matter what I do the framerate seems to remain the same(changes to native resolution and enhancements have no effect, the game runs between 49-60FPS no matter what) but since it doesn't skip frames at 45FPS, for example, it's in slow motion. I tried adjusting the frame limit to no avail. Running at 1x internal resolution windowed yields even lower framerates! No graphics adjustment seems to help!

The culprit would appear to be audio-related, but while I've made various adjustments that help(LLE Recompiler with my actual DPS rom combined with OpenAL and a latency ~10ms works best) it's still weirdly slow mo. Again, animations are smooth and framerate is smooth it's all just running at a reduced speed, like I've used a speedhack(I haven't).

I feel like I'm missing something obvious as I'm new to dolphin but I couldn't find a solution anywhere. I've watched videos of folks with lesser computers running it perfectly! I have two graphics cards that run in Crossfire X by default, I don't know if that's an issue but turning it off makes things worse, and I seem to get the best accuracy with OpenGL. I also tried the stable release but experienced the same issue. I have yet to import additional Wii games aside from Tetris Party Deluxe, which does not exhibit this issue, but my GCN collection(I own about 20 games) doesn't exhibit it either!

I'm stumped, if any of you have the time please help. Sorry to be such a noob.

@Emuthusiast try to EFB to texture instead of EFB2RAM, that should help Wink.

Also make sure you're using the latest dev build: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/list/master/1/?nocr=true

Thanks to both of you! I really wanted to run it with EFB2RAM because blue coins are invisible otherwise(according to the wiki), but that turned out to be the limiter. Thank you for pointing this out. And I updated to the most recent build! I do feel as though my specs should be up to the task though, especially with all the memory I have, but maybe there'll be a hack or patch or something. I was afraid it was the dump I have(my own disc) so I'm glad that wasn't the issue. I'll keep my fingers crossed for performance increases!

Yeah, EFB2RAM is reeeally rough on the CPU. However, there seems to be some work at the moment getting some game effects working worth EFB2Texture as well; not sure if this one will be affected, though.

@StripTheSoul I guess I'm just not used to having my CPU not be able to be perfect! Sure she's from last year but she's a six core beast with 12MB of L3 cache that just chews through whatever hefty work I can throw at her. I get full FPS on all other games I tried with EFB2RAM, too, but unfortunately slow-mo Mario just isn't an option :-(

Try Rogue Squadron - Rebel Strike then Wink
Yeah, you cannot compare emulation to pc games. However, I have this feeling in my left testicle that this game will soon have much better performance with EFB2RAM (or won't it anymore).

Sorry, there's nothing going on for New Super Mario Bros, at least not that i know of. There's something in the works for some other efb2ram games though. All ways i can come up with, to make it run faster, are total hacks, like this one:
Find the TextureCache.cpp file in the source code(the d3d one), change the line:
if (!g_ActiveConfig.bCopyEFBToTexture)
to:
if (!g_ActiveConfig.bCopyEFBToTexture || bpmem.copyMipMapStrideChannels == 256)
compile, and start the game in EFB to Texture.

New Super Mario Bros is really sensitive to IR, when you are using efb2ram. If it runs too slow, try lowering IR a bit.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to find stuff and compile stuff. Anyway, what would that hack do exactly? NSMBW with spinning blocks/coins and blue coins?

It would only do efb2ram for the stuff that needs it. It's about 30% faster on my system.
