Hi, I know you've already spent money on peripherals, but what I did find as the best and hassle-free authentic Wii experience is with the MayFlash DolphinBar set to Mode 4. I am using OEM Wiimote Plus (RVL-036). No need for a BT dongle, because the Wiimote syncs with the DolphinBar instead. Below is what it looks like when a Wiimote is synced. Purple lights only visible to camera lenses. The aim is pretty spot-on for HotD 2/3 and Overkill. Sega has the best in-game gun calibration IMHO and is preserved even months after not playing the game. It also works like the real deal with Just Dance. This option is a bit pricier (not unreasonable), but it has been loads of fun since day 1 without frustration. Note that 3rd-party Wiimotes may not work with the DolphinBar at all. Hope this gives you some ideas. Good luck!
Yes thats a nice solution, but only if you will use wiimote for dolphin. There are many emulators nowadays that can be played with wiimotes (old lightgun games) And some newer than dolphin ones, like hotd4, hotd scarlett dawn and many others arcade games (teknoparrot works really good with wiimotes)
btw you can try without crosshair too! 08-12-2024, 04:23 AM

I have seen people heavily modify Wiimotes, pretty cool. I do tend to stray away from subscription paywalls in general. Probably not the best value in my case for the 1 or 2 games I'm actually interested in. (08-06-2024, 05:29 AM)trihy Wrote: btw you can try without crosshair too!Yup, that's also how I play hehe. Couldn't show calibration accuracy in a photo without the crosshair.
Do you find a way to change Y offset with real wiimote?
Seems on many games pointer is way too up from where pointing. I was using this https://github.com/ProfgLX/Dolphin-Light...uracy-Inis on gamepad emulated mode, but not sure if can be used on real wiimote. BTW you can use touchmote + teknoparrot for playing those games. A 5 minutes setup and ready to go. Most hotd are free. Other games have subscription, but there are many free. 08-12-2024, 11:32 AM

Safe to say, Sega knew how to do it right. (08-12-2024, 08:17 AM)trihy Wrote: BTW you can use touchmote + teknoparrot for playing those games. A 5 minutes setup and ready to go. Most hotd are free. Guess you know which games I like haha. Thanks for reminding about touchmote.
Yes, sega ones have a nice calibration tool. If we can took those calibration values for other games will be so cool, but probably wont be possible at all.
The calibration from RE umbrella and darkside doesnt seem too good. And other gamers are a nightmare, pointer is way too off and there is no calibration at all. Mostly the simple ones (chicken shoot and many others like that) have horrible aiming. I have some custom builds of touchmote which have IR calibration among other cool stuff. If you need it later, just ask Terminator and Alien Armageddon are good ones too. They dont need subscription. |
