Hey guys, I'm new to the forums here. I'm not new to emulation though..

So I've been playing my skyward sword on dolphin using a real wiimote and a motion plus controller.. I've been wondering if wii motion plus actually helps dolphin or changes anything.. A LOT of times the sword messes up and i doesnt feel very accurate.. I don't see any post on this subject for the dolphin 3.0 so i thought i'd ask..

I don't have a wii to compare too so i cant say for sure.. Right after calibrating it does GREAT for a few minutes.. then it gets all out of whack again..

Its also possible that the wiimote is messed up or something.. I bought a normal wii controller and a wii motion plus adapter and they were both used when i got them..

So i guess my question is does wii motion plus actually improve anything on dolphin? Or is it just used to get passed the annoying "Plug in your wii motion plus adapter" screen

YES!!! It does the same as the Wii. It improves the accuracy by 100x, so it's required by all means, unless you want to try out the emulated motion plus build.
Main Laptop:
Dell XPS 17
i7 2720QM @ 2.2GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 555M
Windows 7 64-bit

Thats very comforting.. Mine is acting horrible though.. I'm starting to wonder if it might just be the wiimote.. Both the wiimote and motion plus were bought used.. So its possible they are just messing up

Do you have a sensor bar? In Zelda Skyward Sword the sensor bar is used to make some "real time" calibrations, from what I read...
Avell A70 MOB: Core i7-11800H, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4-3200, Windows 11 (Insider Preview)
ASRock Z97M OC Formula: Pentium G3258, GeForce GT 440, 16 GB DDR3-1600, Windows 10 (22H2)

Yes i do.. Its a wireless one

Its really weird.. It works for a bit.. then the sword will think the controller is down when its really up and i have to calibrate it again..

Its managable during playing.. But really degrades gameplay.. I hate it..

It also does this during wii sports resort on sword play "Show down" But not in the regular sword play..

Very strange

You can calibrate in Wii Sports Resort by pressing down on the d-pad while in center position. You can calibrate the pointer in SS the same way.

I have this same issue, quote from the Zelda Real Controls thread:

(01-07-2012, 01:16 AM)jro Wrote: I haven't seen any fixes for the Wiimotion+ becoming out of sync after 30 mins - 1 hour of play. Has anyone who's been having trouble with this found a solution to it yet?

Some information on what I'm running for other folks having the problem:

Dolphin 3.0-355-dirty
Windows 7 x64
official Wii remote with a Motion+ add-on
Wireless Sensor Bar from dealextreme (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/white-wirel...r-wii-3643)
Bluetooth dongle from dealextreme (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/super-mini-...ible-11866)

Hope anyone who's been bothered with this can help me out. The post about the out of sync being the same on Wii is not true. I tried the game for an hour or two but it was nothing like it is on Dolphin. The beetle/slingshot won't move and balancing on tightropes become close to impossible.

Seems like I'm not the only one, so it's not a rare issue. That's sorta good. Anyone found a solution yet? I bought a new Bluetooth stick yesterday but it didn't fix much. I'm beginning to think it's the wireless sensor bar I'm using since somebody already mentioned Zelda SS doing some real time calibrations and I do have some problems with pointing at the middle of the screen during start up. I'll buy some new batteries tomorrow for the wireless and report back.

Does your PC run the game at pretty much full framerate? The sensor bar theory might be correct also. Another test would be to try other games that use the motionplus, like Wii Sports Resort. All motionplus games should have the same problem.
