If you want to play GameCube games with a Wii Remote, you're gonna have to connect it with an external utility. WJoy is the only one that actually functions anymore, AFAIK: https://code.google.com/p/wjoy/
If you're just trying to figure out how to use it with Wii games, there's nothing to figure out! Just connect it and start a game and it'll work just as you expect a Wii Remote to work. (You'll need a sensor bar for pointing at things, of course.)
