Wii Mote connection and DSP problems - V4.02

Good day,

I'm new here and I read the rules of this forums. For some reason, I'm really hyped with classic games these days, and I wanted to replay Wii games since I sold my old unit a long time ago when I was a kid.

Anyways, I loaded up "Zombie Panic In Wonderland" in V4.02 as a test and what I noticed was that the audio was messed up. I tried messing with the settings and that didn't really help either. Increasing latency does make it better, but the audio just sounds wrong. Is there a fix to it or does the game just have problems from the beginning? Same thing happened with 3.5 I believe. Default settings and what not. Perhaps I overlooked something?

I also wanted to connect my "Rock Candy" Wiimote that I bought from Walmart and it was successfully connected via Bluetooth via a dongle connected to my PC. However, upon connecting the Wiimote to Dolphin Emulator itself, I received an error from the Bluetooth icon telling installing the drivers or something has failed (I don't really remember). Basically, it won't allow me to connect Wiimote to the Emulator.

What shall I do to fix the problem?

You're hitting a CPU bottleneck. Dolphin relies on strong single core speeds (as it only uses 2 cores, 3 if you have LLE on separate thread), and AMD CPUs don't have very strong single core speeds.

To get more speed in Dolphin,
1) Look into overclocking that processor
2) Use one of the new dev builds

And about your wiimote problem, if it's a 3rd party, it's likely to have problems with Dolphin. Only genuine Nintendo wiimotes are guaranteed to work with Dolphin

Aww man, I was pretty sure my Rock Candy Wiimote was going to work. The company is PDP, the makers of Afterglow products.

As for my CPU, I don't think I'm going to overclock it. It's really not worth it considering how it draws so much power already from daily usage ($300 electricity bill if left too long during the day). I'll take a look at the dev builds later in the day.

Thanks guys.

If you're really concerned with the power usage, you might want to look into a computer upgrade. an i5 4670k has a TDP of 84 W compared to your 1100t with a TDP of 125 W.

If you save up for just a new motherboard and CPU, you can probably use your old case, PSU, RAM, hard drive, and GPU. It will come out as savings for you in the long run, comparatively.

You sold it along time ago when you were a kid? I guess they really do grow up quick.

I guess I am getting there. Even dolphin is getting up there in age. Having said that, they were still releasing titles for the wii up until the end of last year. I personally never cared about the wii until I heard about dolphin.

And back to the topic: OP, if leaving your pc on is costing you 300 dollars in electricity, you may actually save money in the long run by building a more efficient system.
