BIG UPDATE!

Looks like the big and only culprit for the game not booting is the tiny and much needed "00000011.tik" file.

.zip   MKA Ticket.zip (Size: 651 bytes / Downloads: 3,360)

There is no need to install Wii System Menu anymore and YES! also NTSC version of the game is running perfectly!

Just put the "00000011.tik" file inside a folder called 00000001 and put it inside another folder called "ticket" in your Wii root.

\User\Wii\ticket\00000001\

Don't worry if you can't find it, it's normal if you don't have System Menu already installed.
Just manually create the two folders and place the tik file.

And MAGICALLY the game will pass the gray screen, no tricks!
Big Grin

Thanks for the guide. This only seems to work for the PAL version of the game, though.

Indeed, unfortunately i cannot test NTSC version so i cannot confirm, at least with my settings.

Here's how to easily and quickly install System Menu 2.2E using NUS Downloader utility:

Download NUSD from this link:
http://nusdownloader.googlecode.com/files/NUSD_v15aBeta.zip
Extract the utility and open it.
Wait the "Database.." button become available and press it.
Now choose System > System Menu > v194 (2.2E).
If you did everything correct you should have a screen like this,
also make sure to check all the correct options as shown on the bottom of the picture:

Press the button "Start NUS Download!" and wait a few seconds.

When download is completed you should see this confirmation screen:

Now close NUSD and look for the folder "0000000100000002v194" in NUSD root directory.
Inside the folder you will find the WAD "System Menu-NUS-v194.wad" you need for the System Menu installation.

For booting System Menu and launch the game you will need two other files:

1)"cdb.vff" (It's a kind of virtual partition and the default placed by the wad doesn't allow the System Menu to boot.
You will have to replace the file in the following path after System Menu installation:

\User\Wii\title\00000001\00000002\data\

.zip   SYSMENU_FIX.zip (Size: 22.76 KB / Downloads: 1,062)

2)"00000011.tik" (It's a ticket file, without this the game won't boot and you will get a black screen)
You will have to put the file in the following path after System Menu installation:

\User\Wii\ticket\00000001\

.zip   MKA Ticket.zip (Size: 651 bytes / Downloads: 1,081)

Place the file "System Menu-NUS-v194.wad" anywhere you like (it must be visible from the game list, so eventually adjust the paths according to where you placed the WAD) and start Dolphin.
From the "Tools" menu choose "Install Wii Menu".
A window will open asking for the WAD file, go where you placed the "System Menu-NUS-v194.wad" file, select it, and press "Open".
Close Dolphin and reopen it, now you should have the "Load Wii System Menu (194P)" option available in "Tools" menu.

Before launch anything remember to place the 2 fix files.

Have Fun! Big Grin

I'm not really convinced it's working only on PAL.
Today i found the game will boot only if you have a specific file in your ticket directory:

The file is "00000011.tik" and without this the game won't boot and you will get a black screen.

.zip   MKA Ticket.zip (Size: 651 bytes / Downloads: 1,081)

You will have to put the file in the following path:

\User\Wii\ticket\00000001\

If somebody could test it with a NTSC copy of MKA it would be nice, just to confirm it's not a problem caused by the missing "Ticket" file.

Works indeed, also with NTSC version! Good work figuring that out Smile

btw: How did you find this ticket file and how did you know that would fix it?
Also, it would be nice if you could alter the first post to look like the official game threads around here (keeping the workaround in it, of course), so that this thread would become the official thread for this game and StarScream could add it to the Game Thread Index.

The ticket actually comes from an old NAND dump of my Wii.
When i tested NUSD WAD System Menu installation method in a fresh Dolphin i noticed that with "Use Panic Handlers" activated Dolphin gives some warning messages about the ticket not matching to installed system and more importantly gives you a hint for the name of the file that is causing problems.
The other discovering was i accidentally booted MK ISO instead of the System Menu and Bingo!

to not get the warning, disable Panic Handlers and to be able to play with the wiimote, select "nothing" in the 4 Ports in the Gamecube-settings.
