Ok so i just tried goigg in blind.and bassicaly im getting a lockup at the intro video after character creation. The screen goes black and then beeps constantly, like morse code.
Have tried DX9,11, OGL, DSP HSE and LLE, Framelimiter auto, by sound, and 60, and a bunch of other settings.
Anyone know whats going wrong ?

Cheers

Hello

Game is broken for me too (NTSC) with last revision (3.5-2233). After you start a new game (cutscene where a ship appears), the emulator freezes and then beeps constantly.
Tested with DX9, DX11 and OpenGL and HLE with default configuration

The game works ok with 3.0 and 3.5 stable versions with default configuration.

3.5 stable, ok great ill use that. cheers.

EDIT: yep the stable version 3.5 works fine. Sound has hickups now and then but thats not unusual for a emulated game Smile

Havnt gone out fighitng yet but can run on 9xSSAA in the village with ~50% gpu usuage so may get lucky and be able to stay wiht 9xSSA, though in a game like Xenoblade i have had to settle for 4xSSAA so dont mind going down to that if needed. This is using the DX9 engine atm.

EDIT2: Tried DX11 and openGL, some differences in GPU and CPU load as expected but image quality is better in DX9. DX11 max 8xAA doesnt seem to work very well, if at all. DX9 9xSSAA works verywell. Ill stick to DX9 i think.

Any1 know of a fix for bloom, i currently have it disabled via the hack, is their a way to have bloom working as intended ?

EDIT3: Just a heads up to any1 wondering. the game seems ot run smoother in windowed mode(FPS limit on auto)* over its 'fake' fullscreen mode. Less stutter.
Stil lafter a working bloom though for that little extra fidelity.
EDIT4: Ok so i was coming up against certain areas and circumstances where the FPS would drop(no GPU or CPU bottleneck) but VPS and Speed would still be fine at 60 and 100 respectivley. Turns out the game needs to be run with framelimiter set to 60 with limit by fps unchecked. Auto, Audio, Limit by FPS 30, all end up having issues in certain areas like for example area 6 in the desert when ur looking at the dust faling from above.
Though tbh i think there will still be cases where the FPS drops some due to the emulation.
Another thing that seems to help is turning on K-boost on EVGA Precision X (for Nvida users), this turns off the GPU downclock and makes sure ur GPU stays on max clocks. Since MHtri doesnt use much more than 50% of a GTX 780 gpu ,even with 9xSSAA and4x Internal Res, it downclocks, and it seems dispite having ample power, the downlock actually affects Dolphin and can cause a slight drop in FPS/VPS/Speed in some situations. If ur already running at max clocks due to high GPU usuage then this likely wont help.

Yea, dont use fullscreen. That happens, i've had it happen.

Untick fulslcreen, set resolution like normal, start it up, then just expand the window.
From that point on ur can minimize (though not really needed in windowed mode) and tab to other programs without any issues.

Oh and another tip, make sure prompt before exit is on. The amount of times i hit esc by accident and it ended emulation ....lol ..bad times Tongue

thanks for the reply but that's what i do. i don't do fullscreen.
all i get is a blank window and the top says: Dolphin 3.5 | JIT64 DC | FPS: 0 - VPS: 60 - SPEED: 100%
other than that, nada.

Does the sound continue in the background, like if u move forward u can hear ur character moving ?

if so just make a savestate. Shift + f1 for example. retsart the emulation and load it up.

it obviosly doesnt fix whats causing it when u tab out, but it atleast gives u a quik workaround.

I've noticed some graphical issues with the new 4.0 version. The graphics seem all "bloomy", it doesn't matter if I use DX9, 11, or OpenGL. Anyone else has this issue?
