EDIT: I found it in My Documents/Dolphin Emulator/Config. Added the line to the bottom of the ini file and it didn't do anything.Don't do that. Revert what you've done.
Open up Dolphin, right-click the game, go to properties and click edit config in the bottom left corner of the window and paste those lines at the top of the file there.

Hi, I just downloaded Dolphin and tried playing MH Tri. The problem I encountered was that I am always at 20 fps in game, tried changing multiple values to increase speed but it always remains at 20 fps. Any ideas to solve this? Also, the sound is distorted probably due to the fps drop. Thanks in advance for the help.
Edit : Also, my CPU is constant at 30% so the slowdown is not caused by CPU issues Edit 2 : Solved, it was caused by my DSP Emulator Engine option 10-21-2013, 08:05 PM
Does this game always run at 30 FPS?
I see some posts mentioning 60 FPS, yet it's not working here. When I disable the frame limiter, the game speeds up, just like enabling turbo mode. Found this thread: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-li...-at-60-fps But there's no mention of MH3 anywhere. Is there some special setting for this game or has the render speed changed in 4.0? 10-21-2013, 08:10 PM
Yes, the game is designed and should run at 30FPS.
That list doesn't contain all 30FPS games. Not sure if he's even going to continue it. 10-21-2013, 10:13 PM

That is really unfortunate.
I cannot stand playing games below 60 FPS nowadays. I turned to emulation to run my games at 60FPS and at much higher resolution. To see some games actually hard coded to run at 30 FPS in an emulator is really disheartening. Haven't run into this on PS1/2 emulation (mainly PS2), but the first Wii game I try to emulate has this issue. Is there no possible way around this? Why did some people even comment about running it at 60FPS if it's hard coded at 30? Bleh.. Only one guy mentioned "60fps", he didn't even indicate his user name btw, and I doubt he could ever run the game full-speed... Some sources may not be 100% reliable . Btw now that Dolphin 4.0.1 is released I'm gonna start making tests with all my games (or games that I can play here and there). This time I won't make a separate thread (like I did with 3.0). I'll update Wiki pages/game threads

Console developers have a FPS target so they optimize their games to have it run stable at that FPS. They aren't coding their games like PC developers do; on the consoles the game speed is tied to the FPS. If a game is designed to run at 30FPS, running it at 60FPS would basically run the game at twice the speed. Since the PC has a wide variety of hardware, they have to implement fixed time steps so that the game runs at the same speed regardless of the FPS. It'll only be smoother at a higher FPS like we're used to. VIRGIN KLM managed to hack Kingdom Hearts 2 to run at 60FPS. 11-12-2013, 04:34 AM
Hello, i still have a problem with the bloom effect and want to set it off. A half year ago i couldnt solved it, i posted a pic on page 2 or 3 in this thread. Now i wanna give it another try with version 4.0 and tried to edit the game config in the properties with "[OnFrame_Enabled] $Bloom OFF" as mentiod on page 7, but it didnt worked for me. If i open "config edit" it appears an empty editor page, paste the lines and save it. As i open the config edit again its also empty again, is this supposed to be?
I also tried to edit this at the game.ini itself, which is called RMHP08, also no results. Do i have to activate that ingame anyhow? |
