#%@#% okay, am i crazy or should this door open for me?

I am in Chozo ruins right before the boss. I think when I jump to the platform on the right, something is supposed to happen because the fps drops to exactly half, but vps stays at 100%... weird. So, I explored every other area, and then looked up a walkthrough. I am quite sure this door should open for me when I blast it with my beam but nothing happens. =( GAME OVER

**update**
Okay, I verified that this door IS supposed to open. This issue with the fps slowdown right outside the door and the door not opening is only prevalent in the PAL version. my friend was nice enough to go through the door and beat the wasps for me on his NTSC version and send me the save. I can see now that the area is explored, but it still doesn't let me through the door. I considered just ripping the PAL version again (just incase something went wrong there), but I decided I'd just get the NTSC version from him again and drop the pal version altogether. I get weary of testing sometimes lol.

I had this problem once in the GC version in Phendrana Drifths, happened on a revision long ago. The room behind is loaded when you shoot the door, and Metroid Prime is notoriuos for taking long to load rooms sometimes, never seen more than 10 seconds on the real hardware though. Maybe the game simply fails to report that the room is loaded? (I would think the room starts to load once you jump on the platform. On the consolle you can hear disc noise when you enter certain areas of the room and the next one starts loading)
Specs: intel i5 3570k @ 3.4GHz;
16Gb RAM; Raedon HD 7900;
Win8 64-Bit

hmm... maybe i should uncheck the speed up disc transfer rate setting? it definitely is trying to do something because as soon as i jump on the center platform my fps goes down to like 25 but it feels like 1.. and the vps stays at fullspeed which i thought was weird. then when i jump back to the entrance side of the room it goes back to normal.

i verified (on my PC) a little while ago that the slowdown doesnt happen in the NTSC version.

Sure it'll work but it's going to be slow and not full-speed.

People that get this to work is it only the first and second prime that works? I don't understand how some get the third game to run well. :S
Q9550 @ 2.8GHz, GTX470, 4GB 800MHz, Win7 64-bit, Intel 320 SSD 120GB

Current build: 3.0 64-bit
Current game(s): Metroid Prime 3 Corruption (random testing from time to time to see if any tweaks will help).
