Does the bloom offset issue still have no fix? Or is it a problem inherent to the Prime games?

AFAIK there has never been a fix for it because it's basically not broken. It's just what happens with the bloom effect when raising the internal resolution.
Unfortunately, there's not even a hack for it... not sure if that wouldn't be possible. I guess it would have to be a different one for every different resolution. Could be wrong about all of this, though. From what I remember, Metroid Prime 3 (and 2?) just have places with rather strong bloom which makes the issue especially annoying.

I have a lot of performance issue (lots of stuttering) on MP3 but My CPU & GPU are constantly under 30% of use (they are good enough i think). I tried to follow the tip on the wiki but is there anyone that could share config for good gpu/cpu like mine. Thanks!
Even running on native res doesn't help Operating System: Windows x64 Processor/CPU: i7 4790K Video Card/GPU: GTX 970 Memory/RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 2 x 8 Go PC12800 CAS9 Dolphin Revision Currently Using: 4.0.2 03-19-2016, 07:07 PM

It might not make the program go away completely, but it should help. 03-24-2016, 02:58 PM
I found out that the flickering is caused by the Virtual XFB setting, which I have on to avoid the black bar. This happens on the latest development build, too, on both renderers. I can't test DirectX 12, because that just causes Dolphin to crash immediately on hitting play.
Any ideas as to what the issue could be? 03-24-2016, 05:02 PM
Is SSAA downsampling from higher res? If so, will it cause a bloom offset when playing at native res?

So apparently the bloom problem isn't going to be fixed soon. But in the meantime, is there a hack or a patch to atleast disable it for the time being? I know Zelda Twilight princess and Monster hunter tri both have a bloom problem, each has a patch. I tried using the patch from those games to fix Trilogy with no Luck. Then there is DKCR which runs in the same engine as prime 3. This I believe has been fixed so that may provide some insight into how Trilogy can be fixed. But what I want to know is if there is a patch or if someone could make a patch like LOZTP or MH3 to disable bloom.

All the time one sees issues with one or all of the Prime games get fixed or pop up again. Has anyone played through the first one recently and can tell me if it is emulated perfectly in recent builds? Because after years I wanted to play it now and when I start I hate it to realize mid-game that I can't play it all the way through or have to fight with several annoying issues.

The first page in that link will show you where to enable the shader fix. Use the DX12 backend in graphics (need Windows 10). I think you need to uncheck windowed mode since it's on by default for some reason in the "advanced" section of the graphics tab. That combination will give you good performance. https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-un...n?page=453 |
