I started Metroid Prime 1, not issue whatsoever, really loving the game. I'm at the beginning of Phendrana Drifts. The only downside is that it's too easy, I didn't know that the Wii normal mode was the GC easy mode. Is there a way/hack to change the difficulty midgame? Or a save that I could use?

I've been having a minor issue where using the screenshot feature, loading savestates, and rotating the screen (Ctrl+Alt+arrow keys in Windows) causes the screen to become slightly squished vertically, also leaving a black bar at bottom. Issue and settings: https://imgur.com/a/9Z5uuMW

The only way fix is to exit to the title screen (or reset the game entirely); it doesn't occur at all in the title screen or in Corruption. The issue persists even if I change resolution or aspect ratio.

After some googling I tried unchecking "Immediately Present XFB" in graphics settings, which does technically fix this issue, but it causes other graphics issues which are not tolerable. (Bright fuchsia flashing.)

I can live without fixing this, but I'd like to be able to dump higher res screenshots from the first two games - I use emulation as a photo mode, basically, hence the screen rotation. Any advice is welcome.

I'm using Primehack and would really rather not switch from since it controls so well otherwise, but I could try another version of Dolphin for the first two games if it doesn't have this issue, and if someone could slip me some cheats and a mouse/keyboard controls setup. https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-fork-primehack-fps-controls-and-more-for-metroid-prime

Try disabling "Dual Core".

Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately, although I tried that, when I actually started up the game and checked "Configuration" again, "Dual Core" had been forcibly re-enabled and the problem persisted. Maybe my specs are too low to run at all without dual core enabled...?

Hello, I am having the same issue as others. I make it all the way to the Hall of Remembrance on Bryyo and can't use the grapple lasso to pull the latch to open the door. The grapple attaches but no amount of clicking or movement will pull the lever! I have tried 3 different versions of Dolphin and its all the same.

Hope someone can help, having fun playing this game!

Quote:I'm having an issue w/ MP3 that I've seen discussed in various places: semi-random skips & stutters despite meddling with nearly every setting. This mostly happens when opening map screen or moving through doors. Funny thing is that it happens just as badly at native resolution as with 6x native (w/ all Ubershaders settings attempted). I tried out the Primehack fork but seem to get worse performance like audio static and inability for a real wiimote to move the pointer correctly. I'm running a new high-end build, so I'm curious as to why this is happening.

I'm having this issue as well, it's not shader compilation related as it happens even with exclusive ubershaders enabled. As far as I can tell, the game runs smoothly until you experience a moment of lag or slowdown. From that point on, the game will stutter once every three seconds or so until you reload your save. I have tried this with the latest version of Dolphin and every setting turned down to the lowest or enabled if recommended (No scaled EFB copy. per-pixel lighting, anti aliasing, etc).

I have a Ryzen 5600X, 64GB of 3200MHz RAM and a GTX 1650. The issue is less common at lower resolutions since slowdown happens less frequently, but it will inevitably happen at some point even on native resolution. Hybrid, exclusive and skip drawing ubershaders have no effect on it, nor does setting an Nvidia control panel setting for "Prefer Maximum Performance" or enabling the ""High Performance" power profile in Windows.

There seems to be no way to prevent it from happening, as some rooms will always trigger it no matter what settings you have enabled, like the room with the two baby Sheegoths at the beginning of Phendrana Drifts. Sometimes it will correct itselt after moving into another room, but usually it will persist until the game is closed and started again from Dolphin.
