Hey guys - does anyone have any recommended build and optimal settings to use for this game?

Trying to get the best experience and it seems to fluctuate quite a bit from build to build. Would really love to hear from someone who has spent the time to really make this game hum so I can play the living heck out of it.

Cheers!

EDIT: Just wanted to add that I've been to the wiki and have tried some things but each build I use has a new issue that another doesn't. ie: ES_Launch, video / audio shuttering, issues with loading save state, problems with wii mode disconnects etc.

I've tried the latest 'nightly' build to the current release build to a few in between and like a said I'm just getting combinations of the above and haven't found anything exactly playable yet (getting close!).

I'm running into the problem described at http://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Metroid_Prime:_Trilogy#Crash_on_Game_Load where the game hangs after selecting which game to play, however I'm running dolphin 3.5-1386 and sounds like this should work without the swapping the dol's in the iso trick. Am I missing a setting or something that I should have configured? Can anyone else confirm this works in this build?

Thanks!

overridex, check that Idle Skipping is enabled and that the latest totaldb.dsy file from the zip has been installed in your Dolphin/Sys folder. Ensure that the iso is 8.5GB in size as Metroid Prime Trilogy is a dual layer DVD9 disc. That's all that should be necessary.

Works fine when I run it in 3.5-1389. Is your ISO NTSC or PAL? And have you compared your dump's MD5 hash to redump.org and gametdb.com?

Hmm. Mine's NTSC, and it works fine in 3.5-649 but hangs on the loading screen in 3.5-1389. I do have idle skipping on, running it on Ubuntu. I'll check the md5sum's, but it seems odd that the ISO would be the problem if it works in the older version. Undecided

if 3.5-1389 doesn't work try 3.5-1388. If it still doesn't work try 3.5-1387. And so on. Something might have broken the game in latest builds. Finding the build which might have caused this could help to fix an unexpected "bug"

Alright, did the backtracking game - looks like the latest version it worked in was 3.5-1316, and from 3.5-1317 onward it hangs on the loading screen after selecting which Prime game to play.

I've opened an issue at https://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=6350
