Hey, I don't think has been covered (when I searched for it, I got no results) But I've been having sound issues while playing other M, every now and then the sound starts glithcing and then it sticks and just sounds like constant static!

You can still hear speech and wepoans etc behind the static, but obviously the constant crackling and general noise of glitchy static sound is rather annoying :/ I was just wondering if any one else has experienced this, and if dolphin needs particular settings to remove the glitching sound?

well, the HLE sound does have an issue where in several games it can suddenly start to have those robotic noises and it only goes away (if I remember correctly) when the music changes. Dunno if it's the same issue you're having there. But you could try LLE sound.

well... I'd love to try it, but when I try to run the game with DSP LLE Recompiler, it errs.

"Failed to load DSP ROM: ./User/GC/dsp_rom.bin

This file is required to use DSP LLE.
It is not included with dolphin as it contains copyrighted data
Use DSPSpy to dump the file from your physical console.

You may use the DSP HLE ebgine which does not require ROM dumps.
(Chose it from the "audio" tab of the configuration dialog"

I don't understand alot of that being new to wii emulation, but I do get that dolphin does come with the required files to use DSP LLE, and obviously I have to get it from my console(?)
But how do I do that exactly?

Also, I went by the wiki, but nothing on there helped. I can't really figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same problem, on Dolphin 3.0-368. Box at the upper left corner in DX11, OpenGL and DX9 the framerate goes down the drain. Tried tinkering with EFB settings, hacks, enhancements on or off nothing seems to work.

I too also have this problem, DirectX 11 runs better for me than DX9, but it is unplayable because of that corrupted box in the upper left. No combination of settings resolves the issue. Different revisions do not seem to help either. I recently built a new computer with completely different parts and I still have the issue.

is there any update about this problem or what's causing it? it sucks because DX11 is the fastest backend and has the most flexible anti aliasing options. this game is fairly jaggedy and needs some amount of AA in order to look its best, but DX9's 4xSSAA is too intense to use without lowering the IR and while OpenGL has less impacting AA it also has the slowest framerate.

Confirming that I am still having this problem many months after my original post. Someone should mention something about it on the compatibility wiki.
