Morning,
I've searched the forums and I see this topic has been discussed before, but the discussion didn't lead to any real solutions or even any conclusions, so I decided to bring it up once again.

As far as my research on google and here on the forums has brought me, a framerate around 30fps seems to be normal for most users for Other M on Dolphin... but i assure you, it's like playing the game in slow-motion.
I've seen people stating that there was no way to get the framerate above 30 because the game was set to 30fps, but I think that's not entirely true.
I've tried a changing the config a bit and I've managed to get the fps up to about 40, but never further than that... and in bigger areas it still goes down to 30 (I can live with that, though)... one of the biggest problems though are the ingame videos... they're a mess. When more than 3 people are on screen, the framerate drops below 20, sometimes even around 15... thus the audio runs too fast for the video, producing bugs and making the whole thing pretty much... unwatchable.

I'm sure more of you guys have encountered these problems and since I'm new to Dolphin, I thought maybe someone has found a better solution... if so, please share. Wink
Or discuss any ideas you have, maybe we can find a more playable way if more people think about it. Big Grin

If it's of any importance, I'm using the R6940 with DirectX11 on a 64 Bit Win7, GeForce GTX 580, Intel Core i7 K875, 8GB DDR3 Ram.

//Update: Interesting. Found out what was wrong with the videos for me. The automatic framerate setting tried accellerating it too much. The videos are definately supposed to run at 30fps, and only that... if I limit the game to 30fps, the videos work just fine. But then again I'm pretty sure the rest of the game runs too slow... as if the videos were set to 30fps, the rest of the game to 40-45... is any of this making sense at all? oO
I'm pretty damn sure though the game had been running a lot faster on my old Wii than it does on Dolphin at 30fps...

//Update 2: Nevermind. I've managed to set things right, the game runs at 50-60fps ingame and at exactly 30fps during the videos now. So I guess this thread has just lost it's purpose, sorry.
If someone else still has problems(since it seems to be a common problem), feel free to reply though, I could give you my settings or any other info.

I had a E8400 3GHz and a 8800GT all stock when I played it and I don't know what I did but I had 50-60FPS average, in tight spot and it would go down to 30 and cutscenes were horribly slow (10-15FPS) but it was so seldom, it was very neat. I think the settings and what revision you use is very important so you will have to trial & error. It takes time but if you enjoy high performance it's DEFINITELY worth it. I played at 1680x1050 with no AA so I guess it's the reason it wasn't so demanding.

What resolution, AA and other graphical settings are you playing with?

Current game(s): Metroid Prime 3 Corruption (random testing from time to time to see if any tweaks will help).

I've had it running windowed with even the cutscenes working perfectly, now i screwed up again somehow... xD
I tried maximizing the quality... that worked great, the game runs at a smooth 50-60fps at 1920x1080, 8xAA and 8x anisoptric filtering, but the ingame video sequences are terribly asynchronized again... I put everything back to how it was when I got them to work, but they just won't work anymore... I have no idea why it doesn't work now, when it's worked before.
The funny thing about it is that the problem doesn't seem to be the game running too slowly... it's running too fast during the cutscenes. It has to stay precisely at 30fps, but it doesn't. It goes up and down between 25 and 40, that makes the video go a lot faster than the audio. Any ideas on how I could pinpoint the videos to exactly 30fps? xD

Thanks for the fast reply, by the way. Are the settings are provided enough information?

That's the thing with dolphin. When you get it working, leave it as it is because if you fiddle and then refiddle back to when it was working it just won't work, at least not for me. It's like the game caches some memories.
